Next day, Zhao Qiyuan was about to leave but madam Zhao asked for him so he went to her.

" Mother !" Qiyuan said.

" Come, come. Mother won't take much time." Madam Zhao said with a warm smile.

Qiyuan came and sat opposite to his mother.

" Tell me, what you think about Little lu ?" Madam Zhao asked.

" She is a nice girl, talented too. Has great knowledge about literature. She is knows how to restrain herself. Not arrogant." Zhao Qiyuan said, truthfully.

Madam Zhao smiled widely.

" So you like her ? Should I take it as a yes ?" Madam Zhao asked.

Zhao Qiyuan remain silent for a while before opening his mouth," Whatever mother think is right."

" Ok, my son, let mother do best for you." Madam Zhao said, beaming with excitement.

Zhao Qiyuan got up and left.

After two days madam Zhao went to Cao family with proposal. Both family agreed and the date of marriage was fixed after one month.

Zhao Qiyuan did not has much reaction. He had expected that. He never felt attraction for anyone and as his mother said that he was at the right age of marriage, he was not against it as he had no other plans.

The news spread in the whole town as everyone was waiting. Zhao Qiyuan was the man with whom many family wanted to tie their daughters but now someone did. They all were curious to know.

" Are you really bethroted ?" Yan asked for the confirmation. He wanted to hear from the person involved in rumours.

" Hm" Zhao Qiyuan said.

Yan smiled softly without looking at his friend.

" Congratulations ! Chief inspector. " Yan said.

" Please give me honour to make your wedding robes." Yan said.

" You can." Zhao Qiyuan said while staring at him.

" Thank you and don't worry it'll be best robes." Yan said , confidently.

" I know." Zhao Qiyuan said.

" It's my wedding gift for you." Yan said, looking straight in Qiyuan's eyes who were failed to understand his emotions.

Then they parted as Qiyuan had some official work.

It was late at night when Qiyuan again met with Xu Yan who was scolding Xiao Yi.

They were coming from opposite direction.

" What are two doing this late ?" Qiyuan asked.

" Running behind this brat !" Yan said, smacking Xiao Yi's head.

" I was buying something in market." Xiao Yi said.

" Why ?" Qiyuan asked.

" It's master's birthday tomorrow." Xiao Yi grinned.

Zhao Qiyuan looked at Xu Yan.

" It's nothing special." Xu Yan said.

" What gift you want ?" Qiyuan asked.

" Nothing, chief inspector. I've everything. " Yan said.

" We should leave. It's late." Xu Yan said and hurriedly left.
