The whole day I was just laying in my bed and staring up at the ceiling, thinking about Tom and Samatha. I hate her.
Later that night, everyone was getting ready for the party, Virginia was downstairs cutting vegetables and a lot exotic fruits. Samatha and Tom were out doing something and Zack was warming up the grill.
But I was upstairs, staring at myself in the mirror, I was wearing only my panties and nothing else. I hated my body, I thought I looked chubby but my mom always said I am really curvy and that's really attractive. But I never believed her.
I was standing and staring at my reflection, everyone was calling for me to come out but I always said "Yeah! I'll be in a minute!" But that minute was 10 minutes and more.
After some time I heard a light knock on the door and I snapped out of my thoughts, finally someone distracted me. "Yes?" I said quietly, and that's when I realised I am literally sitting without a bra. "Can I come in?" That was Virginia. Oh gosh I almost got a heart attack. I let out a sigh of relief. "Yeah sure you can." I took a shirt and put it on over my head.
"Are you okay in here?" She peeked inside my room. "Yeah. Why?" I smiled a little as I straightened my shirt. "Why aren't you coming out?" She asked softly, a hint of worry in her voice. "I will, I am trying on my bikini's." I lied. "Okay, don't take too long we already started." She smiled and waved at me before she closed the door and went downstairs to others.
I took a deep breath and looked at myself in the mirror. The disgust on my face I had just staring at my body made it all made everything worse. Tears well up in my eyes and to stop them I did my usual thing I do.
I took my lighter and lightened it, the hot flame touching my skin burnt it. "One... two... three..." I was counting to ten. "Eight... nine... ten..." I placed the lighter away and looked at my inner thigh. I closed my eyes for a moment trying to calm down before I stood up and put on my bikini finally.
And over my bikini I wore a t-shirt that looked more like a dress. I came downstairs and saw everyone out already drinking and having fun. I took a deep breath before I put on a fake smile and went outside. "Finally! Here you are!" Zack clapped his hands together.
Girls were wearing bikinis. Tom and Zack their swim trunks. I was the only one in a t-shirt there.
"Hey, Rose. Why are you wearing a t-shirt?" Virginia asked. "Oh, I just feel a little cold you know." I smiled awkwardly. "Cold? In Hawaii? You're kidding right?" Zack said while chuckled a little.
I chuckled as well. I turn my head to look at Tom and saw his arm wrapped around Samatha's waist and I quickly look away.
The whole night everyone was talking and laughing but I kinda felt... left out? Maybe because I don't really know anyone here or maybe is it because Samantha is looking at me like she is ready to swallow my soul.
I was quiet most of the time just laughed at some jokes when someone said something. I saw Tom looking at me time to time but it was never long, just a small glance.
"Hey, beautiful, why aren't you talking?" Zack looked at me. I looked at Tom who was holding Samantha close to him. "Me? Oh I am a listener." I smiled a little. "A listener? That's good, that's interesting." Zack nodded. "Alright guys! Let's go to swim?" Tom stood up and clapped his hands together.
Everyone stood up and Zack was the first one who jumped into the pool and splashing water all over, next was Tom who laughed and jumped after him.
After that jumped both girls with big smiles. I was sitting there on the lounge. Everyone looked happy, everyone was laughing and splashing.
I looked at my bruise I just made upstairs and sighed. After a while I stood up and went inside. I took a glass and poured some water for myself. But while I was pouring water I heard a voice calling behind me. "Is everything okay?" I jumped a little and turned to look at who it was and it was Tom.
"Yeah. I am fine." I smiled a little. "You look a bit... off? Why are you just sitting? In your shirt." He asked as he took pieces of pineapple. "I am just cold that's it." I said as I took a sip of my water.
"Cold? It's 82 degrees." His eyes were wide in shock. "Tom, just go out to them, to Samantha, Zack, Virginia. They are much more fun." I said gently to him. "And why don't you come?" He tilted his head a little before stepping closer to me. "I don't feel very well, I will be right back." "Don't lie to me." He stepped closer.
"Why are you so quiet?" He asked touching my arm lightly. "I just don't know what to say." I shrugged. "You all know each other, who Am I? Just a newcomer." I shrugged and took another sip of my glass.
Tom laughed at me. "A newcomer? Are you serious? Cmon! Lighten up a bit!" He ruffled my hair. That made me chuckle a bit. And forget about Tom's and Samantha's little fuck time.
Before Tom could wrap his arms around me for a hug Samantha entered the house. "Hey, Tom can we go somewhere pri-" Her eyes widen in a bitchy face why she saw us together. "What is it?" Tom looked at her. "No, nothing." She left the kitchen and Tom followed her out.
"This bitch." I said to myself.
After that I saw Virginia entering the house and she looked concerned. "Hey, Rose is everything okay?" He dried her hair with a towel. I snapped out of my thoughts. "What? Oh yeah why?" "You look like you're on the verge of tears." She got closer to me. "Oh no, i just zoomed out for a moment." I chuckled.
She smiled. "Alright that's good. You know what happened between Tom and Samantha? Samantha wasn't talking to Tom anymore." "Really? No I don't know." I shrugged as i looked down at my water in the glass.
"Hey, Rose." She said quietly before she sat down at the table. "What's going on. Tell me." I looked up at her and sighed. "You can trust me." She reassured me.
