CHAPTER ONE:
BRUTAL MURDERS
GALE WEATHERS WAS already on the case when the murder of Casey Becker and Steve Orth came across the entire town of Woodsboro. Woodsboro high school was full of reporters, police officers, teachers and students as their voices talked about the new sudden news that was going around, not having had a big crime like this in quite a while since many people found their town boring.Reporters didn't waste anytime to surround the streets that the school full of many students was on as they spoke about the news everyone was talking about now, not having gotten something big like this in a long time. Vehicles were parked on the side of the road, including police cars as officers answered some questions and others were already calling students to the principal's office to ask them questions about the people who had been murdered.
Teenagers could be seen all around the school as they spoke about what they had heard happened the night before. One out of the students, Y/n Carpenter, walks along the sidewalk as she has her hands stuffed in the pockets of her jeans, backpack over her shoulders. Her confused eyes glanced around to see all the news reporters.
She walked past many news reporters, stopping as she listened to Gale Weathers words about a brutal murder of two students. She failed to notice a blonde walking up to her until the voice rang through her ears. The sound of Tatum Riley's voice caused her to jump before she spun around to face her best friend.
"Tatum! What is going on?" Y/n asks.
"You don't know?" Tatum questions in shock, to which the girl shakes her head. "Casey Becker and Steve Orth were killed last night."
Y/n's eyes widen. "What? No way!"
Tatum nods. "And we're not just talking killed, we're talking splatter-movie killed. Ripped open from end to end."
"Casey Becker. She sits next to Sid in English." Y/n recalls.
"Not anymore." Tatum states in response. "It's so sad. Her mom and dad, they found her hanging from a tree, her insides on the outside."
"Oh my god!" Y/n exclaims, still in shock. "Do they know who did it?"
Tatum shakes her head. "Fucking clueless. They're interrogating the entire school. Teachers, students, janitors."
Y/n furrows her brows. "They think it's school related?"
"They don't know. I mean, Dewey was saying this is the worst crime they've seen in years. Even worse than--" Tatum begins, stopping as they remember their friend. "Well, it's bad."
Before either of them could say anything else, the school bell echoed throughout the entire grounds, signaling that class was gonna start soon. Tatum only walks off as Y/n lets out a sigh, watching her leave while she still processed the news of the murders.
