Moonrise (A warrior fanfiction)

Chapter 1

Hello! Apparently I can't find a queen who was in the nursery when Firestar first came. For now I'm going to go with Frostfur. If you have one or a made up one (tell me the queen's name and her kits!) then just comment it. When the name has already been changed or this note is gone then please don't comment a queen anymore. 

Sliverkit woke up to find a tongue lapping her head furiously. She yelped and cried, "Mum! You're making my head hurt" 

Frostfur licked her head even more furiously as she scrambled to get outside. A gentle paw pushed her back inside. Silverkit wailed as Frostfur's tongue began work its way to her back. Silverkit wiggled out of Frostfur's grasp and finally made it outside. The sky was covered with blue with little puffy bits of white here and there. Silverkit breathed in the fresh air, her senses overwhelmed by different scents. 

"Why are you always in a hurry to get outside?"

Silverkit turned to see Frostfur pushing her way out of the den. By the den was Bluestar who was weirdly looking at Silverkit with a warm glow and affection. Bluestar turned to greet Whitestorm and shared tongues with him. A rustle sounded from the entrance. Greypaw hurried out towards Lionheart. "Come on" Lionheart said, "Bluestar wants to see you" 

Greypaw nodded then padded towards Bluestar and waited patiently while Bluestar finished sharing tongues with Whitestorm. Watching at them intently Silverkit bumped into someone. She stumbled backwards shaking her head to see Ravenpaw. Ravenpaw looked at her nervously and jumped when Tigerclaw called out his name. Ravenpaw padded towards him as Tigerclaw told him what was today's schedule. Her littermate, Brightkit went beside her. 

Silverkit yelped when a tongue lapped her head. Again. "Mum! You don't need to scare me!"

Frostfur looked at her fur sticking up everywhere. Sighing she shook her head and replied, "You very well know that today is your apprentice ceremony"

Silverkit went underneath her mothers belly. "I know. I'm so excited!"

Frostfur went on lapping her kit furiously till Silverkit's fur was all smooth and clean. Silverkit turned just in time to see Bluestar jump on to the Highrock. "Let all cats old enough to hunt prey gather around the High Rock!"

Bluestar didn't need to call out. Everyone was already near the High Rock. Silverkit's heart almost burst with excitement.

Also to let you know even though Cinderpaw was mentored by Firestar when she was an apprentice she will become an apprentice before Firestar came until a new queen is given to Silverkit. Oh and also Silverkit was born three days before Firestar. 

Brightkit, Cinderkit, Thornkit and Brackenkit sat beside Silverkit and stared at the High Rock and their Clanmates around them. Bluestar looked proudly at her warriors and apprentices before announcing, "Today we gather around the High rock to welcome five new apprentices (Because Cloudkit was brought when Firestar was a warrior but will be raised with bright kit when I have a new queen to give Silverkit to!). Brightkit come up. This kit has reached the age of six moons and will now become an apprentice. Brightkit, before you earn your warrior name you shall, from now on be known as Brightpaw. Your mentor will be...Longtail" 

Bluestar rested her muzzle on the new apprentice's head. Brightpaw licked Bluestar's shoulder respectfully and then touched noses with her new mentor. The same happened with Cinderkit, Thornkit and Brackenkit then known as Cinderpaw, Thornpaw and Brackenpaw. Finally it was Silverkit's turn. "Silverkit come up"

Frostfur nudged Silvetkit forwards gently. Silverkit gave her a nervous glance then padded towards the high rock. The leader looked down proudly at SIlverkit with a little bit of love in her eyes. Why is that? Silverkit thought, I'm just a normal apprentice. 

Bluestar looked at the crowd surrounding her. "This kit has reached the age of six moons and will now become an apprentice. Silverkit, before you earn your warrior name you shall, from now on be known as Silverpaw. Your mentor will be...Mousefur"  

Silverkit licked Bluestar's shoulder the same as her other littermates and touched noses with her mentor. Silverkit padded with Mousefur to the bottom of the High Rock to join her littermates. When Silverpaw settled down with them cheers broke out. "Brightpaw! Cinderpaw! Thornpaw! Brackenpaw! Silverpaw! Brightpaw! Cinderpaw! Thornpaw! Brackenpaw! Silverpaw!"

The other apprentices walked towards Silverpaw and her littermates to welcome them into the apprentices den. Silverpaw took a nest two nest from Graypaw. Silverpaw's eyelids drooped as she lay in her nest. Today had been a good day.

Silverpaw heard some rustling outside and saw Bluestar peering in. What is she doing? It's the middle of the night! Meeting Bluestar's eyes she flinched and put her face in her bushy tail. 

Why is she here and looking for me?
