Chapter 14 (Reid's P.O.V)
I sat up and gasped. I was in the hospital room. Was it all a dream? Kate couldn't be here! I thought, JJ, Hotch, Derek, and Garcia were in the room. Garcia smiled widely as did the rest,
"Spence, it's okay you're in the hospital." JJ said, I looked around the room,
"Where's Evelyn?" I said, Derek smiled,
"At home with Rossi. You look like you've seen a ghost Reid, what's up?" I rolled my eyes,
"Well for one I've been shot." They didn't respond and I sighed,
"I saw Kate, I don't know if it was a dream but she gave me two choices. To stay with her and return here. Well, I chose here." They all smiled,
"Emily saw her too. She took her to a wedding and offered her the same things."
"Yeah she took me there too."
(Time Skip)
I was able to leave the hospital a week later. Evelyn came speeding up and hugged me tight. I did the same, a few tears escaping my eyes.
"Grandpa, you're home!" The rest of the day consisted of a big gathering of the team and their families. Emily came too, she looked happy to see us all.
"Reid, did you see Kate too?" She said raising an eyebrow. I nodded, she hugged me and the rest did too. Shortly after I put Evelyn to bed. As I was tucking her in she looked up and said,
"Grandpa, the bad guys will get me." I frowned and shook my head,
"Eve, the bad guys aren't coming, you know why?" She shook her head, I smiled,
"Cause if you want, you can sleep with me." She smiled and nodded and I led her into my bedroom.
"Grandpa?"
"Yeah Eve?" She hugged me tightly and I could feel the tears land on my shirt, She looked up with her piercing blue eyes and said quietly,
"Thank you for choosing to stay."
