Choi Yeonjun was a name that echoed through the halls of Sungkyunkwan University. Not for his academic prowess or exemplary behavior, but for his unmistakable aura of rebellion and the aura of confidence he exuded. Tall and lean with tousled hair that seemed to defy gravity, Yeonjun's wardrobe consisted of leather jackets, ripped jeans, and boots that announced his presence long before he entered a room. His smirk was legendary, often accompanied by a mischievous glint in his eyes that hinted at a life lived on the edge.
Alongside Yeonjun strode his inseparable comrades: Soobin, the witty strategist with a knack for stirring trouble; Kai, the laid-back charmer who could talk his way out of any situation; Taehyun, the intellectual with a dry sense of humor; and Beomgyu, the prankster whose laughter could brighten the darkest of days. Together, they formed a formidable clique that commanded both respect and a hint of apprehension among their peers.
"It's another day in paradise, boys," Yeonjun declared as they walked across the campus courtyard, his voice carrying a note of mock grandeur.
Soobin chuckled, nudging Taehyun playfully. "Paradise for troublemakers, maybe. I'm surprised the university hasn't put up a 'Beware of Yeonjun' sign yet."
Kai rolled his eyes with a grin. "Don't let him hear that. He'll demand royalties."
Beomgyu, ever the instigator, nudged Yeonjun's shoulder. "Hey, did you see that quiet girl over there? The one with her nose buried in a book? She looks like she's avoiding eye contact with everyone."
Yeonjun followed Beomgyu's gaze to where Grace sat beneath a cherry blossom tree, engrossed in a thick textbook. Her brow was furrowed in concentration, oblivious to the world around her.
"Yeah, that's Grace Kim," Soobin said with a knowing smirk. "The shy scholar who has captured your attention, eh?"
Yeonjun scoffed, trying to mask the slight curiosity that pricked at him. "Don't be ridiculous, Soobin. She's just another student."
But even as Yeonjun dismissed Soobin's teasing, he couldn't deny the flicker of interest that Grace Kim had ignited within him. She was unlike anyone he had encountered before—quiet yet intriguing, focused yet gentle in her demeanor.
As they passed by, Kai nudged Yeonjun again. "You know, you should talk to her sometime. Maybe she's not as she looks."
Yeonjun shot him a skeptical glance. "Me? Talk to her? I doubt she'd want to be bothered by the likes of me."
Soobin chuckled. "You never know until you try, buddy."
And with that, the group continues on their way, leaving Grace to her studies beneath the cherry blossom tree. Little did Yeonjun know, Grace Kim's quiet world was about to collide with his ways neither of them could have imagined.
