The Right One

Author's P.O.V.

"Um, Rachel?!" Rachel looked at the guy.
"Yes?" She replied in her sweet but cold voice.
"Hey, I'm Kevin, Kevin Torres." He said with a bright smile. Kevin is the person with whom Rachel was going to get married. He was a very handsome and attractive man with a charming personality. He was an extrovert and liked to enjoy his life. But there is something nobody knows about him. Nobody could ever recognize the dark mysterious eyes behind those spectacles.
"I see, hi there!" Rachel gave an awkward smile. "Sorry, for being late" Kevin said with an apologetic smile, and then went and sat on the chair infront of Rachel. "That's fine" said Rachel with no expressions. There was a pin drop silence between them for few moments. To break the silence Kevin said, "So, we are getting married."
"Uh yes" Rachel sighed and said in a cold voice. "But before that I want to make a few things clear."
Kevin chuckled and said, "Relax, I have already got to know everything from your parents."
"And still you agreed marry me?!" Rachel was a little shocked.
"Uh well, initially I agreed to marry you because my mom wanted me to and also I never had a girlfriend as I was never interested in all these dating stuffs. But now I have another reason, I mean who doesn't wanna get such a beautiful wife?" Kevin said the last sentence in a flirty way.
The last sentence irritated Rachel. She said, "You always talk nonsense like this or is there any special occasion today?" "Nope, I have always been like this only" , Kevin said smiling. Rachel gave him an 'are you serious?' look. "Yeah I know, I mean weird. Don't look at me like that."
Suddenly a waiter approached them. "Hello sir, hello ma'am. May I know what you would like to order?"
"I would have a frappuccino, and you?" Kevin look at Rachel. "An expresso." She said taking out her phone. "Ewwww!! Who the hell likes expresso. It tastes so bad." Kevin said looking at Rachel and got a death glare as reply. His expressions immediately changed. "So, one frappuccino and one expresso", he said to the waiter with an awkward smile.
"Uh, by the way, I just wanted to ask something, of course u don't mind. May I?", said Kevin. " Yeah, go ahead", Rachel said while looking at the phone. "I know after that incident, trusting a person is really hard. But still, all men are not same. So, why did you opt for arrange marriage when you could have just given a try to dating?" Kevin asked. Rachel looked at Kevin. Her eyes held pain, which was clearly visible to him. Rachel then looked away and sighed. "Actually, I took the biggest decision of my life without listening to my parents. And I am suffering a lot for that. My parents kept on telling me that Austin, I mean my ex, was not at all good for me. I didn't listen to them. And still, they were by my side at my lowest. So, I have let them take the decision now." Rachel said with a glum smile. Kevin knew that how bad it was hurting her inside. He just slightly nodded.
After that, they talked with eachother about random things. Kevin tried his best to lit up Rachel's mood with his silly words. But Rachel's expressions were cold as ice.

**After about half an hour**

"Okay so, it was a nice time talking to you", Kevin said with a smile, getting up from his chair. "Same", said Rachel without looking at him. "I don't think so", Kevin said. " Uh, shall I drop you home?" He asked. "No, I have my car", Rachel said. "Uh ok. I just don't wanna leave my beautiful fiancee alone." Kevin said in a flirty way. And once again he got a death glare as reply, struggling to hold back his laugh. Rachel got into her car and went.
Kevin smiled thinking about Rachel. It was the first time seeing someone his heart flattered. He didn't know what it actually was. He didn't realize that he had already fallen for her. "Rachel Miller, why was I feeling like that when you were there with me?" Kevin thought and unknowingly, a smile crept on his face

**Few months later**

It was their wedding day. Rachel's mom and Kevin's mom were talking to eachother. "She'll be happy, right?" said Rachel's mom looking down with a sigh. "Don't worry. You can trust my son. He will surely make her smile. I promise." Kevin's mom assured her with a smile. Rachel's mom looked at Kevin's mom with tears in her eyes. "I really don't know how to thank you." She said. "You don't need to. And we are bestfriends. Your daughter is also like my daughter", said Kevin's mom. Rachel's mom smiled. "Uh, I will just go and see if Rachel is ready." She said. Kevin's mom nodded.
Rachel was in her room sitting infront of the mirror, while Summer saw the makeup artists doing her makeup. She was wearing a beautiful wedding gown, which was looking amazing on her. Summer said, "I swear Rachel, If I were a boy, I wouldn't have let Kevin marry you. I would have married you instead." Rachel didn't say anything. "Oh come on girl. It's your wedding. Atleast smile today", said Summer. Rachel looked at Summer and smiled. Summer knew it was not the real one, but didn't say anything.
Then suddenly Rachel's mom entered the room. "Is my princess ready?", she asked. Rachel didn't say anything and sighed. "Yeah, almost aunty", said Summer. "Wow! She's looking beautiful", said Rachel's mom looking at Rachel. Summer nodded with a smile.

**about half an hour later**

Kevin was standing on the stage, waiting for Rachel. He was in his wedding suit, looking really handsome. And there she arrived. Holding her dad's arm and a flower bouquet. When Kevin saw her, his heart starting beating faster. The word 'beautiful' was not enough to describe her. He couldn't take his eyes off her.

Rachel's P.O.V.

I slowly walked up and stood infront of him. He smiled looking at me. I didn't know what to do. I was not feeling good. That's because I knew I would never be able to love him. And spending the rest of your life with such a person who doesn't love you is like ruining your life. "Is it right to ruin the life of such a good person, who agreed to marry me even after knowing that I will never love him?", I thought and sighed.
The customs of marriage started. The priest started reading vows. I could feel him staring at me. "Do you, Rachel Miller, take Kevin Torres as your lawfully wedded husband?" I heard the priest say. I looked at Kevin and said in a low voice, "I do". He smiled. The priest again spoke, "Do you, Kevin Torres, take Rachel Miller as your lawfully wedded wife?" "Yes, I do", Kevin said and smiled brightly at me. I looked down.
"Now, you may kiss the bride", The priest said. My eyes widened. I looked at him, Kevin walked towards me and gave me an assuring look. "Is he really gonna kiss me now?", I thought. I felt his hands around my waist. I closed my eyes as I didn't know what to do at that time. And then I felt a soft pair of lips on my forehead. He kissed me on my forehead. When I opened my eyes, I saw him smiling at me. I heard people saying "He's too shy to kiss her infront of everyone", "They are looking so cute" and many things. I saw Kevin blushing. I smiled back, but this time, the smile wasn't a forced one.

Author's P.O.V.

After the ceremony, all the guests greeted them. Kevin was standing, when suddenly Summer approached him. "Hello sir", she said. "Uh hey. Do we know eachother by any chance?", Kevin said. "I am Summer, your wife's best friend", Summer replied with a smile. "I see", Kevin said. "Um, I just wanna say something to you, may I?", asked Summer. "Yeah sure, what is it?", said Kevin. "Although I know you won't, but I just want you to know that if you somehow become the reason of our tears, I will break your face", Summer threatened Kevin in a playful way. Kevin chuckled. "Well, then you should have gone and killed that guy. Uh what was his name?! Yes, Austin", he said. "Uh, you are right. But I don't know where that motherf*cker is", Summer said. "By the way, Rachel can't cook", she added. "Well then, she has married the right guy. I am quite good at cook", said Kevin with a proud face. Summer smiled and said, "I know you're the right one for her." "And how do you know that?", asked Kevin. "You saw how she smiled after you kissed her forehead? Do you know, it's been almost a year since we saw her genuinely smile like that? I know she will be happy with you", Summer said and smiled looking down. Kevin looked at Rachel, who was in her own thoughts, and smiled.
