It was time for them to leave. Rachel and Kevin made there to the car. After bidding her parents goodbye, they went.
After they reached Kevin's apartment, Kevin got off the car and opened the door of the car for Rachel. Rachel got out and said, "I know how to do it myself". Kevin chuckled and said, "But sweetheart, I don't want my BEAUTIFUL wife to struggle getting off the car with this heavy gown." "What did you just say?", Rachel frowned. " I said that I don't want my beautiful wife to struggle with this heavy gown", Kevin said in a playful manner. "No, what did you just called me?", asked Rachel. "What?" Kevin asked, trying hard not to laugh. "You called me Sweetheart", Rachel said pulling Kevin collar angrily. Kevin smiled and said, "So, you heard it". Rachel replied angrily, "I. Am. Not. Deaf." He chuckled and said, "Yeah yeah, I know. Now leave my collar, the car driver is still here. He is watching." Rachel realised that the car driver was watching them and left Kevin's collar. She cleared her throat and said giving a death glare, "Don't call me sweetheart again." Kevin came closer to her and said in low voice in her ears, "As you say, SWEETHEART." The last word gave her goosebumps. She cleared her throat and asked in a cold voice, "Are you planning to stand here the whole day?". "Of course not", Kevin said.
When they entered his apartment, Rachel said, "Listen, I don't consoder you to be my husband, so I won't share room wi-" "Relax, I know. That room is yours. Tell me in case you need anything", Kevin said pointing towards a room. Rachel was about to go, but suddenly she realised that her luggage hadn't arrived yet. "Uh Kevin", she said. Kevin looked at her. "My luggage haven't arrived yet", she said. "Um, so you don't have any clothes right now, right?", he asked. Rachel nodded. "You can wear my clothes if you want. But those will be too big for you", Kevin said. "But, wh-" Rachel was about to speak but Kevin cut her off. "And if you don't want, it's your choice. Stay in this heavy gown", he said and was about to go to his room but Rachel stopped him. "Wait, can I borrow your clothes for today?", she asked in an annoyed way. Kevin looked her. She was looking really uncomfortable in the gown. He gave her a playful smile and nodded.
He went inside and after few minutes come out with a white tshirt and a pair of shorts in his hands. "Here you go, SWEETHEART", he said teasingly while giving those clothes to Rachel. Rachel looked at Kevin in such a way that she would have stabbed him if possible. She took the clothes and rushed into her room. Kevin went inside his room. He flopped on the bed and started laughing so hard that he ran out of breath.
On the other hand Rachel changed her clothes and went infront of the mirror. "Why is this guy so big?", she murmured looking at herself in Kevin's clothes. "These are comfortable though."

**few months later**

Rachel was getting ready for her work. She is no more that cold one. It's not like she had turned back into that old Rachel, who was always happy. But she was getting better. And although she wouldn't admit, but the reason was Kevin. In these few months, they have become really close friends. Rachel had started feeling comfortable around him. Kevin used to tease her and annoy her. Though she acted like she was getting irritated, deep inside she used to enjoy it. And Kevin?! As days passed, he was falling harder and harder for her. He never missed a chance to make Rachel feel special. Yes, she was healing from her past heartbreak, but was not ready to fall in love again.
While Rachel was getting ready, Kevin called her, "Breakfast is ready, sweetheart." Rachel replied, "DON'T CALL ME SWEETHEART and I'm coming." She went to the the dining table. "Why aren't you ready yet? You'll be late", Rachel said seeing Kevin, while Kevin served her the food. "I have a day off today", he replied. "Oh ok. I guess I have to leave for work alone today", Rachel said with a pouty face. "I see, my sweetheart doesn't wanna stay away from me", Kevin flirted with Rachel. "Shut the f*ck up. You know what I meant. And. Don't. Call. Me. Sweetheart", she replied with an annoyed face. Kevin simply gave her a playful smile and said, "The food is getting cold." Rachel started having her food. Kevin went and sat on the chair infront of her. While he saw her having the food, a smile crept on his face. He was happy for the fact that Rachel was happy with him, may it be without any kind of romantic feelings in her heart.
After Rachel went out for work, Kevin went and sat on couch. He turned on the TV and started watching the news. It said, "2 school girls went missing while returning from the school." Suddenly Kevin got a call. He picked it up and spoke, "Hello. Yes, I am coming." After that, he went out.

**in the evening**

Rachel came back from her work. Seeing the door locked and Kevin's shoes missing, she thought, "Where did he go?", and sighed. As she had the keys of the apartment, she opened the door and went inside. After that, she freshened up and sat on the couch, scrolling through her mobile phone and waiting for Kevin.
When Kevin reached home, seeing Rachel's shoes at the doorstep, he got worried. "Why is she home so early today?", he murmured. Then he checked on himself to see if everything was alright. He sighed and rang the door bell. Rachel, hearing the bell rung, rushed to open the door. After opening the door, she saw Kevin was standing infront of her with an awkward smile. "Where were you?", she asked. "Uh, I had some work", he replied getting in. Rachel nodded and suddenly she noticed Kevin wearing a pair of gloves. "Why are you wearing those?", she asked while pointing towards he hands. Kevin's eyes widened. He said, "Uh, it's r-really cold outside", and rushed to him room. Although Rachel didn't find it suspicious, she felt weird.
Kevin, after freshening up, came out and started preparing dinner. Rachel was sitting on the kitchen counter with a packet of chips in her hand. "Don't eat those chips now. The dinner is almost ready", said Kevin. "But th-", Rachel was about to speak but Kevin spoke, "Please SWEETHEART." Rachel gave her a death glare and went to keep the packet. Kevin chuckled at her.
After dinner Rachel went to her room to sleep. Kevin went to his room and was doing some work.

**about an hour later**
Rachel's P.O.V.

I entered the room. It was dark so I was not able to see anything clearly. I was not feeling good. "Is anybody there?", I asked but got no reply. I was a bit scared. And suddenly I stepped on something. Initially, I didn't understand what it was. But when I realised what it actually was, it sent a chill down my spine. It was a body of a small boy. And suddenly someone turned on a dim light. The floor was covered with dead bodies of small children and blood. On the white walls, there were small handprints of blood. The view was so terrific, I was on the verge of crying. I started shivering out of fear. Then, I felt like someone was standing behind me. When I turned back, I saw a man standing, not too far from me, with a knife in his hand, from which blood was dripping. He was wear a red cloak, whose hood covered half of his face. Only his creepy smile was visible. He started coming closer. "Stay away", I yelled at him. But he continue to step forward. I was terrified. "N-no please, don't c-come near me. No-", I said. He came closer and was about to stab me with that knife but suddenly I heard a voice. "Sweetheart, sweetheart!"

Author's P.O.V.

Rachel woke up and saw Kevin. Actually, she had a nightmare. She sat up and hugged him tightly as she was afraid. Rachel was shivering like anything and was crying like a small baby. "K-kevin, that man was g-going to kill me", she spoke while hugging him. Seeing her in that way broke his heart. He caressed her head and said, "Shhh. Don't cry. I am there with you, right? Nobody will harm you. Don't cry sweetheart." Rachel broke the hug. "Now lie down, and sleep like a good girl. I am here. Call me if feel scared. Okay?", he said in a low voice and gave a soft smile. Although Rachel broke the hug, but she unknowingly kept helding his hand. "I won't be able to sleep", she said. Because of crying so hard, her eyes turned red and puffy. Kevin sighed. He started caressing her hair. "Close your eyes", he said with a smile. Rachel slowly went off to sleep.

**in the morning**

Rachel woke up by the sunlight falling on her face. She got up amd saw that Kevin was sitting on a chair next to her bed and sleeping. Her heart melted. "He is still here", she mumbled. "God! Do I really deserve a man like him? He cares for me and loves me that much. He is the reason I am slowly trying to be happy again. And here’s me, who is not even ready to fall in love again and can't even treat him well", she spoke, unknown to the fact that Kevin was not really sleeping. He heard everything she spoke. Rachel slowly got down the bed and went to the restroom to freshen up.

Don't worry, my love. I'll heal you, and one day you'll fall for me.
