Kairou
Getting Malin back to the campsite was a chore. First Kairou had to ensure most of the guards making turns around the camping ground were either sleeping or gathered around dinner. The next step was to find a way to avoid the three guards still active, which led Kairou to a four-hundred-meter turn around the camping spot. With soaked clothes. A hand still out of work. And a freaking rhinoceros worth of weight on his back.
How could someone weigh so much? Kairou was sure that every time Malin's limbs bumped into tree trunks, the time his trousers got stuck on a shrub-ripping it and exposing some of his buttocks- all of it was destiny's punishment to Malin, too. For giving Kairou such a difficult time. Especially when you consider that when Kairou finally arrived at the entrance of his tent, he tripped and fell. And Malin's weight almost crushed him to death.
He was so tired when he finally managed to escape Malin's body that to get him inside his tent, he wasn't as diligent as he had been up until this point. "I'm sorry," he said, hooking Malin's armpits in his arms, and he dragged him across the room. Despite the heat, Kairou closed his tent, deciding to keep Malin there until he was conscious again.
While returning inside the room, Kairou caught sight of Malin's face. He looked so at peace that Kairou knew Malin wouldn't even mind if Kairou just let him spend the night on the floor. But unfortunately, Kairou had values and he struggled again to put Malin on his sleeping mat. He exhaled heavily when he finished and looked at Malin's face as the flicker of the lantern painted it a reddish brown.
He laughed in disbelief. At the irony of all this. They had been fighting an hour ago and now Kairou was giving himself hell to make sure Malin rested on a surface comfortable enough. He was handsome, with a square face, smooth skin, small eyes, and a bottom lip tainted magenta. It was the kind of look that caused people to naturally gravitate towards you. So, it was a fit that Malin managed to be such a nuisance. All he had to do was shut up and that would automatically make him tolerable. Just shut up. So easy to do, yet so hard to bring about.
The tent's entrance flapped. One time. Twice. Kairou remained silent. "Kairou." Kenha was outside. "I need to speak to you. Kairou, I know you're there."
