On July 11th, who knew my life would be turned upside down.

When my alarm went off at 5am I sat up in bed and sighed thinking to myself 'what the hell am I getting myself into'.
I never realized that starting college in another state would rouse any kind of anxiety inside me but I was wrong. I thought I would be soo ecstatic about leaving my toxic home but turns out it was the complete opposite...I was sad?
My dad popped the trunk of the car and put my things inside and before I left I gave my sisters and my mom a hug and kiss goodbye telling them that this isn't goodbye forever. My dad honked the horn indicating that it was time to go before I missed my shuttle to airport.

I arrived at the airport and made it to my gate on time so I decided to look around until it was time to board. As time passes and it becomes closer to board my anxiety spikes and tears fill my eyes as they come over the intercom letting everyone know we are boarding.
I board the plane, find my seat and gaze out the window watching the distant figures load and unload other planes. As I continue watching I feel my heartbeat spike and tears begin to fall. The pilots' voice comes over the intercom in a series of mumbled words.
I pull my AirPods out and put them in and gaze out the window again as we begin our take off. I gently placed my hand on the small window as we flew through the white puffy clouds wishing I could become one.
As we continued to fly through the sky catching slight turbulence here and there I decided to get some form of sleep.

The pilots' voice sounded as I awakened from my sleep. I looked out the window to see that we were landing. I swallowed the lump in my throat and began to gather my things so I wouldn't hold anyone else up. As soon as we docked I rushed to front and off the plane and headed towards my luggage.
As soon as I grabbed my luggage and started my walk I saw someone holding a sign that had my school's name on it. My anxiety kicked in again. I thought to myself 'This is it.. I'm actually here'. They took my bags and I climbed into the van and looked out the window. I heard a few other students join inside the van as well. I guess I wasn't the only one.
Everyone loaded inside the van and we began our hour and a half drive to campus. I started biting my bottom lip while wringing my hands. Nervous wasn't even a word I would use to describe my current emotion right now. I felt like I was going to lose my mind.

When we made it to campus I got out the van and grabbed my luggage and began to breathe in the fresh air. It was so refreshing, beautiful green grass, vibrant green trees and it was peaceful. I walked through the front doors of my dorm and stopped in front of my room door..turns out I had a roommate. I walked in the room and placed my things on my bed and started unpacking.
As I put the last of my things away I realized how late it had gotten. I grabbed my things and took a shower. After I finished my shower and put my things away I climbed into bed and stared at the ceiling until sleep found me.

Tomorrow would be an eventful day so I need all the rest I can get to start my day tomorrow. In other words.. A fresh start.
