I woke up to my alarm going off and I began to start my day. I was so excited about it being the weekend; it didn't matter to me that I was exhausted from the lack of sleep the past couple of days.
News began circulating around campus about a little get together that included good food, music, and drinks. Me, my friends and my roommates decided to go and see what was going on.
I haven't really left my room that much due to being homesick and missing my family but I decided that this would be a good opportunity to meet new people and make some friends to get out of the funk I've been in.

As me and my friends walked up to where the party was being held I started to hear the music and decided to grab my friend and dance with her.
We decided that it was enough dancing and time to get something to drink and eat as well. I didn't see where I was going and accidentally bumped into someone, "I'm so sorry are you okay?" I had said and that was when I had locked eyes with her.

She had beautiful brown eyes and locs that framed her face perfectly. Her skin looked so soft, littered with tattoos and veins that popped out of her hands. I snapped back to reality and didn't realize that I was fully staring at her. She flashed me a small smile and stuck her hand out for me to shake. "I'm okay, I'm Lena nice to meet you."

I grabbed her hand and gave a small shake. "Renae, nice to meet you as well." Her hands felt so strong like she lifted weights in her spare time. My mind started racing thinking of how her hands could be else where. "Damn your hands are very soft." She said to me as she pulled me out of my spiral of the inappropriate thoughts in my mind.

I laughed, said thank you and we began to talk about random things that came to mind. It turned out that we had so much in common! As the night progressed and was almost coming to an end, she walked me to my dorm and asked for my number. "Hmm, do you think you deserve it? You gotta work for it." I teased her. She laughed, "Alright then I respect that." "See you around." I said and walked into my dorm. As i watched her walked off, who would've known it was going to be the last time I laid eyes on her.

Until I saw her a few weeks later at dinner.
