It was dinner time and my friend decided he would go with me. We waited in line, ordered out food and passed the time until our number was called to collect it. As me and my friend laughed and talked about our experience so far on campus I could've sworn I seen her out the corner of my eye but I was probably being a bit delusional.

I got up and went to the bathroom so I could see if my mind was playing tricks on me, but it wasn't. It WAS her. I started to fix myself up in the mirror but stopped. 'Why am I trying to look good for her, I barely know her!' I had thought to myself. I walked out the bathroom and she didn't even glance my way. I shrugged it off and sat with my friend again and continued our conversation.

As I was mid sentence someone walked up to my table and asked if I wanted the rest of their food. I looked up and was met with her brown eyes. Oh how I missed looking at them. I didn't feel guilty about looking her up and down, she looked good. Her chocolate skin, her tattoos, her veins in her hands that would occasionally show themselves. She was gorgeous.

I gave her a small smile. "Are you sure I can have it?" I asked her. "Yea, I'm sure." She replied. Our back and forth banter of 'are you sure' 'yes im positive' continued for a little bit more as we laughed. As our laughter died down we began a conversation but was soon interrupted as my friend came back with our food.

I turned to my friend and thanked him for getting it, however when I turned back to finish the conversation I saw Lena walking out the door. I immediately excused myself and went after her. "HEY!" I yelled out after her. "You just up and leave without a word goodbye or something?". She laughed as she began walking back towards me. "My fault, wassup?" She said with a smile on her face. "I thought you would want my number, or am I mistaken." I said with a smirk. "I thought I had to earn it remember?" She taunted back.

I laughed as she handed me her phone and I began to put my number in. I handed her phone back. "Make sure you text me". I said as I winked at her and made my way back to dinner.
My friend and I picked up where we left off in our conversation while we ate and soon enough I heard my phone ding. I didn't think nothing of it so I didn't check nor respond, until it dinged again. I pulled out my phone and smiled as I saw it was a message from Lena.

We texted back and forth all night. My heart fluttered when I received the last message she sent before I fell asleep.

L: When can I see you again?
