"It'll be like a... survival test."
...Seriously?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~A survival test? I'm finished.
"You see, while there were a total of 9 graduating teams/28 students, only one third of those genin will actually graduate." Kakashi explains gaining a look of worry from Sakura.
"Therefore, tomorrow, the four of you will take a survival test which will determine whether you three will continue to be a ninja, or get sent back to the academy." He further explains, narrowing his eyes.
"Alongside all that, the chance of failing is 66 percent." He adds. That's an oddly specific statistic...
"Another thing: don't eat. You're gonna puke." He finished with one of those eye smiles. Oh... as if on cue, right as he said that I felt a rumble in my stomach. Surprisingly, two chocolate bars and one rice ball can't hold you for that long.
He points to a mini forest on a hill in the distance. "Meet me over there tomorrow at 5am." He finishes. That's when I finally spoke up (I actually didn't really mean to it just came out...) "What? 5am?" I mumble. He nods gleefully.
"You heard me! Now then. See ya!" He said, making a peace sign before disappearing.
...
"Sakura-Chan do you uh- wanna go eat some ramen with me??" I hear Naruto feverishly ask. "Shut up Naruto! I've gotta ask Sasuke something. Sasuke-kun!! Do you want to go out to-" Sakura began. "Shut up Sakura. I have things to do." He snaps back, walking away. "Don't talk to Sakura-chan like that, bastard!" Naruto retorts.
This damn love-hate triangle...
He then stops. "Hey, Korika." He calls. My eye twitches. That was NOT my damn name?! I face away from his direction and stare off into space.
"...I'm calling you." Silence. He let's out a "Tch." and walks off, Sakura following close behind. Jerk.
I look over at Naruto who was sulking since Sakura's rude comments. I sigh, "Um... h-hey Naruto...!" The pout-faced boy perked up. "Hm?" The words twisted in my stomach as I hesitated to speak. "Um...!" "Is there something you need, Kuriko???" He cocked his head in confusion.
"Well... since uh Sakura turned you down, I could go with you! I am hungry after all." I say with a half smile. He went quiet and stared at me. "Um I know it's not like the same as going with Sakura, of course! Y-you don't really have t-"
"Sure!" He beamed much to my surprise. I smile. "So uh... where do you usually go for ramen?" I ask, walking closer to him. "I go to the best ramen place on the planet! Ichiraku Ramen!" He exclaims.
"Ichi...raku? I've never heard of i-" "WHAAAT?!" he interrupts.
"How have you NEVER heard of Ichiraku?! You've been missing out on heaven!" He says, shaking me back and forth. "Hehe sorry... I just don't go to many ramen places since I don't eat ramen that mu-" "HUUH?!" I'm interrupted yet again.
"What's ya mean you don't eat ramen that much?! Ramen is the food of the GODS! Believe it!" He proclaims. I give him and odd look and tilt my head "F-Food of the gods...?" I repeat. He nods rapidly. "Uh huh! C'mon, c'mon!" He grabs my arm, pulling me while running off.
