Average. A bold characteristic of mine that's followed me practically since birth.
When you're average, there isn't much in life for you to do. Me personally, I think I'm a bit below average.
The "average" Konoha child would have two parents. Probably a sibling or two. You may or may not pursue a career as a Shinobi, loyal to your village. Shinobi are usually able to perform Jutsu, which require Chakra, with ease.
There's also the "above-average" category. Special. They likely belong to a clan. Tons of relatives. They've got some Kekkai Genkai or special Jutsu their clan is known for. They're bound to be excellent shinobi.
As a below average myself, I can't perform Jutsu with ease and I'm pretty untalented. I had parents but who knows where they went off too? I've only got my Aunt she's all I need honestly.
Speaking of my aunt did I mention she owns a bakery! Pretty cool right! It's the village's main bakery too so we get plenty customers. We're average but at least we made some bread (pun intended lol)!!
Nothing was really special about me. (Unless a severe cat allergy and lactose intolerance makes you special).
Aside from the fact I was a telepath.
I discovered this ability around when I was 3 or 4. I had asked about my parents and I heard my Aunt's thoughts about how they had abandoned me two days after my birth. Of course, this led to an awkward conversation alongside an amazing discovery that later had me going in and out of the walls of the Yamanaka compound.
Luckily I could control that ability at will (most of the time) and it also didn't drain the minuscule chakra reserves I had. I never really abused this ability much as it felt rude to peer into people's thoughts. It had to remain mostly a secret for obvious reasons.
Again, it really wasn't anything specia- "KURI!" My amazing introduction was interrupted my Ino yelling my name. Ino my "bestie for the restie!"
Ino was above-average.
I had mentioned going in and out of the Yamanaka compound which had started when I was 5. I do owe them gratitude as they helped me be able to control my ability and "will" it into working somehow instead of it activating randomly (though I still hear random thoughts sometimes and it's usually ones of malice). Their clan heiress, the loud, outspoken, Ino had found out a girl her age had been visiting a lot and she heard of my ability. She was extremely excited to befriend me.
"We'll be besties for the resties Kuri-Chan!" Her younger self had declared that day. As we entered the academy, we were coincidentally in the same first year class and she became extremely close with some other girl named Sakura Haruno and under a year, they severed their friendship over a literal crush.
The crush in question?Sasuke Uchiha. I'll get to him later though.
"Kuri, Iruka-sensei has been calling you! It's your turn to spar!" Ino says, shaking my shoulder. "Ok, ok Ino!" I say, slowly standing up. I really didn't like the academy.
"Alright then Kuriko! You'll be paired up against..." Iruka-sensei ran his pen down his clipboard.
"Sasuke Uchiha! Both of you please come up to spar." Oh brother.
Looks like I'll get to him now.
Sasuke Uchiha. He was special special. Apart of one of the greatest Konoha clans. The apple of the eyes of many girls in our class. Including Ino. They were genuinely so obsessed with his "mysterious" behavior.
I guess I did see the appeal back when he first started attending and every once in a while, I can still see the appeal.
I knew I was nothing to him though. After all, all these pretty, stunning girls like Ino and Sakura liked him and he didn't bat an eye. He probably doesn't even know I exist.

Hayran Kurgu"Seriously?" 12 year old Kuriko Nakamura was average. Probably below average. Being born to civilian shinobi parents (who kinda left her), and raised by her civilian aunt, she didn't have any special abilities like a large chunk of her academy class...
