My name is Leighton.

If I could have one wish that had no consequences, I would wish to be born normal.

I wish I was a normal girl who had a normal life, a normal family, a normal dream, a normal form of mentality.

I just wanted to be normal.

But that dream was impossible.

Nobody is normal.

Maybe I do not believe in a deity or an entity watching over us, sure. But I believe in reason. In purpose.

Just think about it.

Without you, who would start to make a change in the world-- no matter how big or small it may seem?

Without you, who would that one kid look up to when you saved him or her from bullies?

Without you, so many things will not turn out right.

Sure, life is hard.

But just think; someone out there has had it harder than you.

You're heartbroken from a lover? Someone has lost a family member that they love very dearly.

Your parents are being strict? Some people don't even have parents.

Bullies? Medical and Financial problems are happening somewhere.

And if you're that bratty kid who takes everything for granted; I hope you can survive the world at all.

Because I don't care if you're the smartest in your class or you're the highest ranking whatever.

I don't care if your parents are being hard on you or that you're being hit on by someone you don't like.

I don't care about your nails, your hair, your looks, your style, or anything physical.

It's what you have on the inside. Literally and Metaphorically.

Which is more important?

Your looks? Or is it your health? Your family and/or friends? Your attitude? Your virtues? Your principles?

Think about it.

Think really hard.

If you still don't listen however, I don't really mind.

It's up to you to decide who and what you are.

I am grateful for my family.

I am grateful for my life. Obstacles and all.

And I never want to take anything for granted.

If life has more challenges, I don't care.

Bring it.

PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THING BELOW TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M ABOUT TO DO.

Hey guys! It's the author here.

Okay, I know I don't deserve anything right now.

But I have to focus on this new book. And before you leave in annoyance, I just have one thing to say.

This new book is actually going to be dedicated to my parents.

I am currently preparing the chapters and my parents have encouraged me to join the Wattys. I decided that since my parents think I shouldn't be writing about love for now and that I should concentrate on showing my audience(whoever you may be) about the hardships people go through. This is why I decided to let Leighton in this chapter talk about her inner thoughts on how life has treated her so far.

Now, this book will not have any love. As said. But it will have the main character grow bonds(whether romantic or friendly) towards other people and it will also showcase the hardships in life that people go through.

And that includes a lot of scenes which may be a bit harsh.

But it is dedicated to my parents and it also showcases actual scenes that they went through which they told me throughout my years of existence through their stories.

Now, I hope you guys will forgive me. I know I don't deserve it, but please at least give the book a try.

The book will be posted on Monday, July 27, 2015.
