Nini asked a question about werewolves/vampires/shapeshifters and it has some stuff I didn't explicitly put in the book that's important for world development, so I am going to put it here. I plan on making a species sheet for vampire and werewolves (and possibly shifters) but for now, here is some info so you can get to work on your characters!

Vampirism + werewolfism can both be given accidentally or on purpose. Because werewolves and vampires have no obvious physical giveaways, sometimes people end up getting turned without even realizing it. Werewolfism is more common than vampirism because it is a blood disease, so you could get it by drinking after someone, having sex with them, making contact with werewolf blood (typically in fights), etc. Vampirism on the other hand is transmitted exclusively through biting (vampire "venom" is what causes the transformation) and most accidental transformations are recorded from overeager teenage vampires kissing their partners a little too roughly lol.

Although very rare, some people think that vampires/werewolf crime is a common threat, and believe anyone turned is on a quest to transform those around them or that they will transform others without consent/as an act of violence. Again, this is extremely rare and often overexagerated in the media.

As for shapeshifting, shapeshifters are almost always born, often either from family lines with lots of different races (like a human-orc having a child with an elf-vampire-werewolf or something crazy like that) causing a genetic mutation or due to a family trait passed down. Beings could also become shapeshifters if they transfigure themselves too often and their body gets confused on what its natural form was, but this is super rare and tends to happen only to super experienced magic users. Shapeshifting isn't so much a power as an unstable sense of being. Some races have human forms that they can shift into (such as imps) but no race is capable of naturally moving between more than three forms. Anything more than that requires magic. Shapeshifters can move through infinite forms without the use of magic and are therefore considered dangerous (which is why all shapeshifters must wear an ID of some kind at all times.)
