* RULES *

Hi, everyone! Thank you so much to anyone who is interested in this roleplay. I hope that the worldbuilding chapters before this page were giving you a lot of ideas for characters or worlds to make! In order for this roleplay to work, I'm trying to find the sweet spot between creativity and structure, so there are going to be some rules. Most of them will be pretty basic to ensure that everyone is kind to one another.

1. This roleplay is not open to homophobic, racist, transphobic, xenophobic, sexist, or any other discriminatory writers. If you know that you struggle with one of these issues, I kindly ask you to find another roleplay so that this server can be a safe space for everyone. Characters are allowed to have these flaws (with the hope that they will have a change of heart by the end of the season!), however, I cannot allow an actual threat to the people in the roleplay to be there. If the roleplay starts and someone feels like there is a conflict around this topic, please report to me privately so I can investigate and ensure everything is sorted out.

2. Worldbuilding should be collaborative. If you join a pre-established team, work together to build on ideas for your shared nation. While it is first come, first served, worldbuilding is not finished when a form is accepted! Keep adding on, and try not to shut anyone's idea down unless it's for a good reason. On that same note, respect what other people have created, whether it's with the lore of the nation or a species that they have created. For example, in this universe, all goblins do not have a gender and use they/them pronouns (species sheet coming soon!), so making a goblin characteristically gendered without any backstory would not make sense with how I have designed the species. If you want to work off of someone's idea, try to talk it through with them. This is a collaborative roleplay, so make sure to respect others' creations so they will respect yours!

3. Push yourself to have your characters interact with others. If you see a roleplayer has no one responding to their character, please try to include them whenever possible. This makes sure everyone is having a good time. If you feel like your character is not being interacted with, feel free to have them walk in on anything already happening so that they can be included.

4. Write semi-literately - that is, please don't write one- to two-sentence responses. One way you can expand your responses is to make sure that we learn something new about your character in each response, whether it's something they are reflecting on, how they respond to things, etc. It doesn't have to be anything big. Just try to give each response a purpose. Also, try not to give heinously long responses! This can be difficult for me, but I want to make sure that everything is being read, and sometimes an influx of four people dropping 6-parter novella-length responses,only ends up rweading one response! I am a slow reader and a slow writer, so this is for those like me out there. If you feel like you genuinely cannot write a shorter response because it detracts from your response, though, go for it. Use your talent! This is a creative space!

5. As the writer, take all character drama lightly. Just because A calls B annoying or stupid doesn't mean that your character is now officially unlikeable. One man's trash is another man's treasure! Take it like a champ, and send that character out to find new friends, and have fun with the fact you've got a rival. Please don't assume that an admin dislikes you just because their character does. Besides, they've got a whole season to warm up to you. (And if there is any actual person-to-person drama, come see me or sort it out privately. We want this to be a chill space.)

6. Magic must be cast on other characters with consent! It's illegal to hex or spellcast on people without their consent in the game unless it's for self-defense which was mentioned on the magic page. Keep that in mind. And please, please, please read all of the worldbuilding chapters before this so that we can all be on the same page.

7. Me and SUGARSIDE are going to be running this roleplay, so if you see any posts or announcements from us, make sure to read them!

8. There's not a character creation max right now because there aren't a lot of people interested, so feel free to come up with anything you think you can handle! Try to make characters diverse, though! This is both in type of character (human, orc-vampire, goblin, elf, etc.) and also , if your character has a human faceclaim - appearance. Please try to make characters have different motivations for cooking/winning (but I'm sure you guys are already on that haha!). Most importantly, have fun with making characters!

9. For a password, please say what your favorite rule is and explain why you like it. Thanks!
