"Come one, come all
It's happening again"
Lando Norris' POV:
The hospital visit had been a whirlwind, emotions crashing over us like waves. I was still processing everything when we got back to my apartment. The silence felt heavy, yet comforting, as Lily settled onto the couch. I could see the tension in her shoulders, the uncertainty flickering in her eyes, and I wanted nothing more than to ease that worry.
I took a moment to gather my thoughts, pacing the small living room. It had always felt too cramped for my liking, but now it felt even smaller with the weight of our news hanging in the air. This was a huge step for both of us, and I realized we needed to take a step forward, not just stand still in the chaos.
"Hey, Lily," I started, my heart racing as I looked at her. "I know things are moving fast, but I've been thinking... what do you say about moving in with me in Monaco?"
Her brow furrowed, and I could see the questions forming behind her eyes. "Monaco?" she echoed, and I could tell she was trying to process the idea.
"Yeah," I continued, trying to sound as casual as possible even though my heart was pounding in my chest. "I mean, of course, we can find a bigger apartment. This place is too small for both of us and definitely too small for a baby," I added with a chuckle, attempting to lighten the mood.
"But think about it," I pressed on. "Living in Monaco would be better for us. It's easier for me to go back and forth for races, and I can be around you more often."
Lily was silent for a moment, and I held my breath, waiting for her response. I knew this was a lot to ask, but it felt like the right thing to do. I wanted her close, especially with everything we were about to face.
Finally, she sighed and looked down at her hands, a flicker of uncertainty crossing her face. "But... Are you sure?"
I shook my head, stepping closer to her. "It's about us. You and me. I want to be there for you, for our baby. And honestly, I've never felt more sure about anything in my life than I do right now."
Her gaze finally met mine, and I could see the hesitation melting away, replaced by a hint of hope. "Are you really sure about this?" she asked, her voice softening.
I nodded, my determination solid. "Absolutely. I want us to build a life together, and this is the first step. Let's make it work."
Lily took a deep breath, her expression shifting as she considered my words. "Okay," she said finally, a small smile breaking through the uncertainty. "If you think it's the best thing for us, then I'm in."
Relief washed over me, and I couldn't help but smile back. "Really? You won't regret it, I promise."
I reached out, taking her hand in mine. The warmth of her skin against mine was grounding, and I felt a surge of hope for what was to come. We were stepping into uncharted territory together, but knowing she was willing to take this leap with me made me feel invincible.
As we sat there, hands intertwined, I could already envision our new life in Monaco—new apartment, new adventures, and, most importantly, a new family. The future felt bright, and I was ready to face it head-on with Lily by my side.
The moment Lily accepted to move in with me, I knew we needed to take action. I grabbed my phone and called a few real estate agents to set up showings for the next day. I wanted to make sure that Lily felt secure and comfortable in our new life together.
"Hey, I need to see some apartments tomorrow," I said, my voice steady and determined. "Can you show me whatever you've got?"
The next morning, we met up with the agents and started our house-hunting adventure. We saw six different places, each with its own charm, but none of them felt quite right. As much as I wanted to find a home for us, I didn't want to rush into a decision. I could feel Lily's uncertainty, and I didn't want her to feel pressured. We needed a space that truly felt like ours.
