[Phoenix's reaction to Valerie's past! Requested by Silver_star :3 This is like, right after Chapter 3 - Why such a risk?]

'Alright. Let's get this over with.' Phoenix huffed mentally. While Astresk was speaking to Valerie, she went to another room to take a look at Valerie's past. Something tells her she'll see some shit...Valerie practically radiates trauma.

The wolvine pulled over a small star, sitting cross-legged on it. Her ear twitched, her earrings jingling. God, this is gonna suck, isn't it?

So far, Valerie seems like an interesting girl. Phoenix can already see herself in the brunette, which also concerns her a bit. 

Phoenix sighed. She put her hands together before separating them again to make an orb of sorts, which she can use to make holograms to show Valerie's past. She wasn't all that ready, but oh well. She kinda...has to do this?

What.

Things were relatively normal, 'till it reached the academy. What the hell was that place? Phoenix couldn't even consider that an academy- it's a fucking prison. And that damn principal- a growl rose in her throat. Her tail was fluffed up and lashing. At a few points she had to turn her head away, unable to look at the orb as her ears flattened. 

It was so horrific. What type of monster does that to a child? Phoenix took off her blindfold, setting it in her lap as she kept her gaze fixed on the ground until another memory began and she looked up. Even that was hard to watch.

Phoenix has seen a lot of things in her life, but such seeing a child go through such horrors just hurts her more. She's seen it a few times, unfortunately. 

When the memories finally came to an end, Phoenix practically clawed away the orb, putting her face in her hands. This is parts of her job she hates. What she saw will be ingrained into her mind for awhile. And I mean awhile. 

It was vile. Her breath hitched, her claws digging into her hair. She hates crying since it spikes her heartrate and hurts, but how can she not? 

Believe it or not, she has a sensitive heart.

Her protective instincts were going crazy. Valerie now has to deal with this Timekeeper stuff ontop of her past? This shit can bring some trauma, too. The kid doesn't need more suffering.

But it's unlikely Astresk and Giyuu will let Valerie not do this, which is the frustrating part. 

What can she do?

Can she even do anything?

Unlikely.

She doesn't want to end up with another shattered soul.

Never again.
