Once back in Kansas City from his stay in New York, Travis had a lot to think about. He had a marvelous time getting to know Taylor better, he honestly was shocked she was willing to meet with him. He felt as if they fit perfectly together. Not once was there an awkward moment between them during conversation; everything flowed smoothly between them. In other words, their chemistry is perfect. Though as much as he'd want to stay in New York for longer, he had other things in Kansas City to attend to. The new football season is starting soon, and he did not want to fall behind.

His mind wandered to the bomb that was dropped on him last night. Super star Taylor Swift has a little girl. Travis believed she looked about three-four years old, maybe five? He wasn't sure. Travis is good with kids; he has three nieces after all, but he has never been with a woman with a child of her own. Looking back on that moment, he realized there were no signs of her having a child at all. But then something clicked...

Taylor smiled at her phone, almost forgetting about the man in front of her. "Damn, already texting someone else?" He teased, playfully pretending to be hurt. Taylor looked up with a slightly flushed expression and a chuckle. "No, just... my mom." She quickly made up a believable excuse, putting her phone away. "Sorry about that." Travis chuckled and shook his head. "All good."

***

Could that have been a sign? He had no idea. She had said that it was her mom, and he believed her in the moment, but now he was starting to overthink it. If it was truly her mom, what if she had been watching over her daughter? Maybe it wasn't even her mom? Could it have been the father? Or was he reading into this too much? He was lost. Sighing, he picked up his phone and called the person he knew he could talk about this with, Jason. He should be home right now.

Just as he thought, Jason picks up within two rings. "Hey Trav, how was New York?" His older brother asked, the faint sound of a children's cartoon playing in the background. Travis chuckled. "It was alright. A lot happened, but it was alright."

"What happened? Did you get the girl?" Travis could hear Jason's cheeky grin through the phone, making him roll his eyes with a chuckle. "You make it sound like we're in high school." Travis told his older brother. Though with Taylor, he did feel as if he was in high school all over again. The time they spent together didn't feel.. forced or awkward. It was sweet.

Jason laughed. "Come on just tell me!" He was eager to find out how his date went with literally the one and only Taylor Swift.

Chuckling at his eagerness and excitement, Travis spoke. "Alright, relax. It went great.. just one thing.."

"What?"

"Well, I can't really say..." Travis thought for a moment. He promised Taylor he would not tell anyone about her daughter, but he trusted his brother more than anyone else. And he did need somebodies opinion on what to do about his situation. "But I trust you. What I'm about to tell you is confidential. You can't tell anyone." Travis made sure his voice was firm and serious, letting Jason know this was no time to joke.

Hearing the seriousness in his brother's voice, he toned down the joking. "Alright... tell me."

Taylor anxiously waited for Blake to swing by her house. She needed to unload this on someone and Selena was busy. She didn't want the date to be a big deal, so she only told her and Blake about it at the time.

Taylor had done an excellent job of keeping her daughter a secret from everyone. Well, everyone who needed to know knew, but most people didn't know at all. The incident was the reason Taylor disappeared from the media in the first place, and she kept Scarlett a secret for obvious reasons. The only people who know about the incident with Joe and about Scarlett are her, Tree, Blake and her family, Selena, and Taylors parents... and now Travis. Scarlett has no idea about anything having to do with the incident or Joe, and Taylor was dreading the day where she would have to tell her everything.
