✰ "𝐬𝐡𝐞'𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧," catherine talked at scott and he watched zach and renee stand in the water, elbows touching. he couldn't care less for what catherine had to say, in this moment he was more concerned with the fact that the same renee who made his heart race was giggling with a tree branch, in a fucking pool.
"oh yeah?" scott hummed, barely tilting his head to look at her. "did she say anything about me?"
"not really? she finds you fun i guess, fun to flirt with." catherine clarified.
"nothing else?" scott sat up, raising an eyebrow at catherine.
scott felt dread fill his stomach. is that all she felt they had? a flirty relationship?
"when did she tell you this?"
catherine stalled, "last night i think, it was a group conversation."
scott tilted his head towards her, confused. "i thought you said renee was icing you out?"
"um yeah, i overheard it." beads of sweat collected on catherine's hairline, and it wasn't due to the heat. "she didn't tell me directly but by how loud she was talking, she basically did."
scott nodded, not believing her. "i think i'm gonna go talk to...whitney and ella. see you in a bit cath." he stood up, walking over to the bean bags and calling the girls names.
catherine watched with jealousy boiling in her stomach. it isn't working, why isn't it working! she seethed, throwing herself back on the daybed. her attempts to convince zach to pull renee were for nothing if scott didn't believe the prissy bitch wasn't doing it because she was playing him. if catherine wanted to get the guy she was going to have to go lower.
