#5 Find The Light
"Henry. Please just stay here. Emma isn't...herself". Regina looks at Henry with pity, though she tried to conceal it.
"Mom I have too! She is my mom! I didn't run away and bring her back just so she could forget her role as the savior!!"Henry yells at her.
Regina sighs. "If you are going to see her, I need to come with you. She can hurt you".
Henry sighs in frustration, running his hands through his hair."Mom. I'm not as helpless as you think. And Mr.Gold didn't hurt us, even when he wanted to".
Regina purses her lips.
"Henry. Emma is still getting used to her power. Remember when she couldn't control it and she hurt you? This time it could be worse".They stare at each other; Henry's eyes filled with anger and Regina's full of pity.
"Just...we'll go see her next week. Okay?". Henry nods frustratingly.
Regina gives him a small smile, then walks out of his room, closing the door behind her.
Henry immediately runs to his closet and grabs the backpack he had earlier.
He knew Regina wouldn't let him go.He carefully walks to the window, climbs onto the windowsill, and jumps off the two story house.
~~Time Skip~~
Henry takes a deep breath as he raises his arm to knock on the door of his mother's new apartment.
"Come in Henry".The sound of her voice made Henry feel frightened. He hadn't heard it in what felt like years.
Henry slowly reached for the doorknob, then turned it. He looks around the apartment. No framed pictures anywhere in sight, and barely any furniture.
Emma sat in a chair, facing away from Henry. Her light blonde hair was visible above the velvet-cusioned chair.
"It's so nice to see you again". Henry continues to remain silent, secretly wishing he hadn't come.
Emma stands up, wearing pure black leather. Her hair up in a bun and lips shaded a red that is darker than blood.
"Mom?". Henry is still surprised that his mother had not been wearing a leather jacket.
Emma forces a smile filled with pity.
"Where's Killian?"Henry asks. "Gold insisted that he be kept away from me because I might hurt him. Like he ever hurt Belle. I think he wants me to stay the Dark One".
Emma and Henry stare at each other.
"Have a seat".Emma motions Henry to the sofa facing the recliner she had been sitting on.
Henry makes his way to the recliner, then sits down, keeping his backpack on his back.
"So you've ran away again?"Emma asks. Henry shakes his head. "It's okay, I'm not gonna tell Regina. But when she finds out, she'll be pissed".
There was an awkward silence.
"Doesn't true loves kiss break any curse?"Henry asks Emma. She furrows her eyebrows, then turns away.
"I'm telling you, Gold wants me to stay the Dark One. He might have a pure white heart, but he still isn't good".
"HENRY YOU GET OUT OF THERE RIGHT NOW!!!!!". Regina's yell fills the room. She begins to pound on the door.
"Why doesn't she just poof in?"Henry asks. "Sealed it with magic, but you can't last long here".
Henry sighs, then stands up. Emma also stands up. "It was really nice to see you".
Henry looks at his mother. Then he forces her into a hug.
The anchor that had been resting on his shoulders had been lifted.
Just when Emma pulls away, Henry kisses her on the cheek.
A wave of cool air brushes past them, past everyone in Storybrooke.
Emma's pale skin gains the color it had before.
Emma leans down and hugs Henry. "Thank you".
Regina kicks down the door, her face full of shock and anger.
"Henry, I told you that we would see her next week".
"Mom, it's okay". Regina looks at Emma, who gives her a small smile.
Emma looks back at Henry. "You're like a beacon of light. I needed to find the light, but the light found me".
Henry smiles, then hugs Henry. They let go. Emma looks at her outfit. "What the hell am I wearing?".
