Uncle Yams!

Working your ass off with a 9 to 5 wasn't what you had in mind at the age of 6. You probably wanted to run the country or something.. i mean who hasn't? But the imagination of a child is broad spectrum. Yet, Here you are at 23 years old consoling your crying son, because he had a nightmare during nap-time, that a dinosaur was after him.

"Shh Milo, mommy's here. it's not real baby, it's not real." You looked milo in the eyes while wiping his tear stained face. "Let's go get those cars, yea?" Every time you mentioned the word car around milo his eyes would perk up like he had just won the lottery. "Give me one second baby I just need to sign you out".

You quickly signed him out and wasted no time to leave. "Milo what color car are we getting this time?" You looked at him from the rearview mirror smiling ear to ear. "pink!" He held his hand up all excitedly. "Why pink baby?" You asked wanting to keep him occupied. "Because i think of mommy when i see pink!" He smiled and laughed. "Thank you milo, you are so sweet!" Even though Milo was oblivious to it, he always knew how to put the most genuine smile on your face.

"Mommy are we going to see uncle yams today?" He asked.
You put on a surprised face for him and gasped. "Whatttt! How'd you know milo! Are you a mind reader?" Milo laughed and giggled to his hearts content. "No mommy! I just miss uncle Yams".

"Mommy! mommy! I found an orange car and a pink car!" He raised them up to you for you to grab. You examined the prices of each car.. the orange one turned out to be expensive, because it was remote controlled. "Milo baby, im sorry but we can only get one car today." You crouched down to his level. "Maybe we can comeback another day and get it." Milo's facial expression dropped from happy to sad in a split second. "It's okay mommy I will just play with my other cars!" You stood back up and picked up your son. Times were hard right now, you could barely keep up with rent let alone pay for a 900 yen toy car! Despite those factors, you frequently questioned what did you do to have such an amazing child with you.

Later

You picked up your phone to call Tadashi. Awaiting his answer you took milo out for some food.

"Hey, Tadashi I know this is sudden, but Milo just started his first day of school and i need to get back to work soon can you watch him for the night please? I promise i'll find a baby sitter soon!"

"Yea y/n that's completely fine, i have Yachi and Hinata over right now so I'm sure that we'll be able to provide company for Milo."

"Ugh, thank you Tadashi, I promise this is the last time!"

"No worries y/n and it's okay, i enjoy having Milo over anytime! I'll be here whenever you need me."

"Thank you Tadashi..really."

With that you hung up the phone and quickly dropped off Milo at Tadashi's.
"Uncle Yams!" Milo jumped out of his car seat running to Yamaguchi's arms. "Hey buddy! How was your first day of school!" He asked. "It was really fun! My new teacher, Mr. Sugawara! He taught us about the water cycle! We learned about percipertation!" (Precipitation for those confused, he's 5 remember!) Yamaguchi gave him a high-five. "Thats awesome buddy!"

Yamaguchi then walked over to you, "Have a good shift at work sis, don't stress yourself okay? Call me if you need me."

"Thanks, Tadashi. I'll be back around 10 to pick him up okay?"

"Got it."

You wished your last customer good night as you began to close up shop for the night. You didn't know why you were the one doing closing but you did it either way. After you completed all the task, you hurriedly walked to your car and drove to Tadashi's. The time periods where you were able to drive was your only down time. You were either spending your time with Milo or working. Driving was a way to clear your head from the world. Today was particularly stressful with the new school and not having anyone to take care of Milo after school without having to drive back and forth to your brothers house. Oh how you wished things were different sometimes.
But your life was complicated from the start. With your parents splitting at age 8, Separating you and Tadashi. Being pregnant in your last year of Highschool, getting kicked out of your home for being pregnant, struggling alone for your beginner years of adult hood. However, you slowly made life easier for yourself. You weren't quite there yet but you are definitely on track.

You arrived at Tadashi's house. He greeted you outside with an unconscious Milo in his arms. "He really got along with Hinata and Yachi. Especially Hinata.. it was like watching two 5 year olds at the same time. It was very fun!"

"Thank you so much Tadashi. I really appreciate this from you." Despite you and Tadashi being separated you two were the bestest of siblings nonetheless. It's hard to rekindle your old relationship with him considering you were children at the time. But it's faintly there.

You drove home and you were exhausted. But no sleep until Milo was in bed. You put Milo to bed, then you showered and ate dinner and finally was able to get some rest.
