Unexpected love-koshi sugawara

First name basis?

Today was particularly hotter than usual in the spring time, you made sure to send Milo with an extra ice pack to school just to be safe. Today was your day off so you took the time to go on a stroll to regulate yourself. While on your stroll multiple guys kept trying to talk to you, it was kind of confusing, though considering you had the most boring outfit on ever. Which was a faded t-shirt and some leggings and tennis shoes. However you just went on with your day. Eventually you finished your walk, meeting your goal. You showered, ate some food and left to do some shopping for the week.

The craziest part no one ever mentions about being a grocery store worker and shopping at the grocery store is the fact that there have been common times where you found yourself rearranging items on the shelves, employees at other grocery stores have had to stop you like 5 times but they found it pretty funny, and have shared their experiences.
Anyways, from now you every time you step foot in a grocery store you have to remind yourself you do NOT work here. With that reminder burned in the back of your mind you were able to shop for Milo and yourself freely. Though, you were having trouble shopping for Milo. He said he doesn't wanna eat microwave dinners at Tadashi's house anymore. It's like he's growing at a tremendous rate. You wouldn't say your cooking skills is good enough to share with the world but at least you can make rice.
Then it hit you. 'Rice and curry..'  Rice and curry, one of your favorite meals growing up. If you liked it as a kid then so will Milo right? With that conclusion you grabbed a couple of instant curry packs and a bag of rice and headed out for the rest of the day.

It was now time to pick up your son. "Good afternoon Mr.Sugawara" you waved and smiled. "Good afternoon Mrs.l/n" he returned your smile with an even bigger and genuine smile. "Mrs? Im not married." You laughed.
He paused for a moment. "Oh I'm sorry Ms.L/n-" you stood there laughing. "No no it's fine Mr.Sugawara, i'm flattered!" You regained your composure, "How was Milo today?" He smiled once more, "he was great as usual. What about you though? How are you?" Sugawara was never one to make small talk with the parents, but for some reason this felt different to him.

"-and then i did some shopping, and then i- Mr.Sugawara are you listening?" He snapped back into reality. "Huh? No, sorry I am so sorry! Recap please?" You laughed once more and gave him a recap. "Also, call me Koshi, i thought it was only fair that if I called you by your first name then you get to call me mine, right?" He sheepishly smiled, he didn't know why he was saying this, it was like his body had taken over for moment. "Okay.. Koshi, I'll see you tomorrow then!" You nodded and left with your son.

As it was mentioned earlier, Sugawara had never been one to converse or interact with any of the parents, so why were you so different? The conclusion he came to about this was, he basically NEEDED to interact with you because you weren't available for the parent-teacher conferences. So, it's only natural he gets to know you, right? Not only that, but to keep you updated on milo. Totally not for any other reason. With such reasoning in his mind he went on about his day grading the math the kids did today. Some weren't exactly the brightest of the bunch, but they could definitely get there. But Milo? Milo slowly became the reason Sugawara loved his job, he was helpful, insightful, and very smart for his age.

"Good afternoon, Mr.Sugawara!" A man called.
He visibly and vocally sighed, "I told you not to call me that." He came in the room and sat down. "Why not? Thats your name!" He laughed. "Whatever, Daichi." He rolled his eyes and laughed. "I saw you talking to one of the parents I presume? She's hot right?" Daichi had a smug smirk plastered across his face. Sugawara however just looked up from his paperwork and looked back down.
"Aww come on! You've never gotten a girlfriend, not even once your whole entire 3 years of high school. I got a girl friend 2 times! And I was wayyy more serious than you back then." Sugawara looked up at his and his gazed softened thinking of you. He didn't realize that part though. "Well I guess having girlfriend or a partner in general never really crossed my mind....ever, I was just focused on having fun. passing my classes and playing volleyball."

"well what about this woman though?" Daichi question. "Oh y/n? She's just a friend whose son I happen to be teaching." Daichi visibly looked hurt as if he was the one getting rejected. "What? Why are you reacting like that?" Are you okay?" Sugawara looked genuinely concerned. "You're on first name basis with her, and she's JUST a friend? You have some serious work to work on buddy." Daichi rubbed his temples and sighed.
"How about this, you should try and find a way to get her number or something!" Sugawara looked at him seemingly uninterested. "She's not looking for anyone right now. I think as men we should be respective of that." Daichi's gaze softened. "And I think as your friend, you should try to at-least get to know someone." Sugawara sighed, "if it will get you to stop coming to my job unannounced, then sure." Daichi laughed. "I don't know about the not coming by to see you anymore part considering it's one of the rare times I do get to see you cause I'm a cop now, but okay." Daichi stood up and shook sugawara's hand.
"Are you coming to the volleyball teams gathering tomorrow?" Sugawara looked puzzled. "huh? What gathering? I'll still come thought but I wish I had gotten at least a notice 2 weeks before, i cant afford to take a day off." Daichi laughed again, "is all that paper work getting to your head now?" It's after you get off the clock dumbass." Sugawara made a face like 'o.o'.
"Okay bye daichi see you tomorrow then." Daichi waved goodbye on his way out returning to the police car he had parked outside.

Meanwhile, sugawara had ended up being slumped in his chair thinking. 'I never really thought about it but maybe i do need a girlfriend- what am i saying? I don't need someone to be happy?!'

And then he went on with his merry way and thats the end of the book guys!!!!!

Im just joking it's not the end yet.😛
