The next day, Chuuya walked into the school and started to head to his classroom. However, as soon as he stepped foot into the school hallway, he was instantly greeted by Yuan running up to him with a bright smile.
"Chuuya! Are you ready to go shopping later today?" Yuan said cheerfully as she eyed Chuuya in glee. However, Chuuya didn't have his own money to buy a new outfit if he went shopping with Yuan today and Dazai had agreed to take Chuuya shopping tomorrow for an outfit and personally pay for it instead. But of course, no one could know that Dazai and Chuuya even remotely know each other. It was supposed to be kept a secret as Dazai didn't want to be associated or seen with Chuuya in public.
Chuuya's heart dropped into his stomach as he immediately felt guilty. He completely forgot about his shopping plans with Yuan that were supposed to happen today. What was he going to do? How was he supposed to tell Yuan that he couldn't meet with her because of his deal with Dazai?! A million thoughts raced through Chuuya's head as he tried to respond to her quickly and as calmly as possible without panicking.
Maybe he could tell her that he had already found an outfit. That way she wouldn't drag him out shopping. And if she asked to see he could just say that it's a surprise. Chuuya took in a deep breath, feeling his heart pounding in his chest from the nerves. This could work. This could totally work. She'd have no way of knowing that it was Dazai's outfit. He just had to find a way to say and make it sound believable.
"Actually, I found an outfit already." Chuuya said nervously, giving her an awkward smile to try and make himself more believable.
"Already?" Yuan looks surprised and raises a brow at Chuuya sceptically.
Chuuya nodded awkwardly and rubbed the back of his neck. This was probably one of the most awkward situations he's ever put himself into. He couldn't even think of a proper way to cover up for why he had already gotten an outfit without having to explain it was a deal he made with Dazai. "Yeah. It's a surprise though. I'm not gonna tell you what it is."
"Well then I look forward to it. I'm kinda surprised since I thought you'd have no idea what kind of outfits would be appropriate for these kinds of parties." Yuan grins before turning around to head back to her seat.
Chuuya's smile faltered for a moment as she said that, and he felt his cheeks heat up out of embarrassment at the implications of her words. "What's that supposed to mean?" He muttered out, only audible for himself before he slowly started to make his way to his classroom to get started on the school day.
Lunch came around fairly quickly so by the time that Chuuya was done with his first few lessons, he left the classroom with his bag and began heading to the usual room that he and Dazai used which was an abandoned classroom on the neglected side of the school which Dazai the keys to.
They used that room because they both had an initial common goal to find a room to spend lunch peacefully alone at and they happened to run into each other here. Chuuya had been using the room longer and had claimed ownership only for Dazai to reveal that he had rights to the room and access granted by abiding by the school rules but the teachers instead of breaking in like Chuuya had been doing. Things eventually led to Chuuya following and doing what Dazai said in return for Dazai not ratting Chuuya out to the teachers. They had been secretly hanging out in this room every lunch now and despite how annoying Dazai was, Chuuya had hated how he had found himself falling for Dazai. Especially since Dazai was the most popular playboy in school and was currently dating the most popular girl in their school, Nobuko.
Chuuya walked through the hallway and toward the room, ignoring all the students he passed by and keeping his head low as he made his way. He wasn't the most popular himself, and it was more or less due to the fact that he usually was a loner in school and Chuuya actively avoided others during his breaks but that still didn't mean that he did not miss his friends every now and then. They were more concerned about being extroverted and moving up the social ladder in school.
