Zeus' Point of View:
Imprisoning the four Titans Hyperion, Coeus, Iapetus and Crius was not easy, as they never stopped trying to break free upon being sent to their prisons in Tartarus. However, imprisoning Titan Atlas was even more challenging. His strength was tremendous; Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, The Hundred Handers Hecatoncheires and some Cyclops had to combine their physical strength and power when they were escorting and chaining the prisoner to a mountain that had not yet been touched by any humans at that time.
After they were done with Atlas, Zeus returned to the valley near Mount Olympus; every day, he would climb the mountain to check the development progress of his new kingdom, which was handled by the Cyclops, the nature spirits like Dryads, and the war prisoners. Nonetheless on that day, he was so exhausted. While Hades had returned to The Underworld to clean up the mess and Poseidon to the beach to enjoy the cool breeze, Zeus decided to just lay down on the ground.
"My King Zeus, have you just come home?" A woman asked with a soft tone.
Zeus raised his head and slightly twisted it, intending to see who she was.
"Ah, Metis," Zeus turned cheerful; immediately, he got up and faced her. "What are you doing here?"
"Providing consultation to everyone who needs it, just like you ordered me to," Metis smiled. Ever since Rhea, Zeus' mother, introduced her to Zeus as the one who would help in the rebellion against Cronus, he had been captivated by the sweet and gentle smile.
"I did give that order, didn't I," Zeus said, scoffing.
"Yes, my King," Metis said, chuckling.
"Come, sit with me, Metis," Zeus offered. She nodded, then both of them leaned against a big tree and sat on the ground.
Zeus started the conversation by telling Metis about how challenging it was to chain Atlas to a mountain, to the point that Zeus and his brothers had to help Hecatoncheires and the cyclops to finish the task. Metis agreed that Atlas was one tough Titan to be handled; she even added that he was one of the most annoying cousins she ever had. After both laughed on those two facts, it was Metis' turn to tell Zeus what she had done the entire day. While her activities varied, they were mostly providing advice to anyone siding with The Olympians, and persuading the imprisoned enemies to forget Cronus' reign. Pleased to hear that, Zeus grabbed Metis' hand and said, "Thank you for always supporting me."
Metis blushed and bowed her head down; her eyes fixed on her knees. Zeus touched her hair and began rubbing it. He then moved his nose closer to the hair and smelled it. "The aroma's as good and sweet as the first time I met you, Metis."
"Thank you, my King," Metis said, raising her head. Zeus grabbed her chin and moved his face closer to her. He kissed her lips, and she welcomed it. Under the starry sky and accompanied by the cool breeze, they spent the entire night passionately.
The next morning, Zeus was woken up by the ray of sunlight illuminating his face. He soon realized that his and Metis' bare body had been blanketed by the sown leaves; he then raised his head to the tree above him and thanked the nymphs residing in it for covering them. Zeus laid on the ground again and rolled to his side, staring at Metis as he stroked her hair.
Before long, Metis woke up. Still squinting her eyes, she threw a wide smile at Zeus. The lord of the sky returned the smile and kissed her lips again.
"You created a potion that made Cronus regurgitate my brothers and sisters," Zeus said. "Now I suspect you also created a potion that makes me fall in love with you."
"I don't possess the knowledge to create such a potion, my King Zeus," Metis said. "But it will be nice if someday in the future, there will be a god or a Titan who's born with such an ability."
"I believe it will benefit my reign if it's used properly."
"That's right, my King Zeus," Metis said. "Anything that is meant for good can still deliver bad things if it's not used properly," she paused for a while. "It's just like the need to eat. If we do it excessively, it will just make us sick and unable to do things correctly."
"Yes, Metis," Zeus said. "You really are the Titan endowed with wonderful wisdom."
"Thank you for the compliment, my King."
Zeus got up and held both Metis' hands, making the Titan have to get up too. "Do not call me 'My King' again."
Metis tilted her head and confusedly looked at Zeus. "What do you mean, my King?"
"Metis," Zeus gazed deeply at her. "Marry me and become my queen."
