Author's Note: I want to apologize to my readers for the long wait. Life hit me pretty hard, and I didn't have very much time on my hands. But now I have the time, motivation, and inspiration to write, so I'll finally be writing my rewrite of Enchanted Love. Though I don't think it can be called a rewrite at this point. 😅 Thanks for being here with me for this journey!{Igniting the Adventure}
Another day in a normal boring world, a young man went through the same everyday routine. Wake up, eat breakfast, take medicine, and rest for the rest of the day. That was the life of M/n L/n, an unlucky soul born with a weak immune system. Even as an adult, he couldn't live on his own. Well, more like his parents wouldn't let him. They were extremely paranoid, even more so after the 2020 pandemic. So M/n has been a couch potato for most of his life, his only connection to the outside world being books, tv, and the internet.
Being trapped in his little world, he dreamt of going on adventures and exploring worlds of magic, so he became pretty attached to kids shows. They were all just full of wonder, and even if he was an adult now, he had no shame in enjoying things people consider childish. One of his favorites was Ninjago, a show about a group of ninjas with elemental powers and their adventures. He didn't know why he liked it so much, maybe it was because there nobody suffered like he did, but that could be said about a lot of shows. Maybe it was because he liked the characters, or the plot, or for no reason at all. He enjoyed it, and that was reason enough to favor it.
He's rewatched it multiple times, and wanted to watch it yet again. So he started it over from the very beginning as he laid in bed, the moon shining brightly through his bedroom window. Forgetting about the passage of time, he was now at the start of the first episode from the first season. He didn't skip the intro. He liked the theme music, and it was also nostalgic. At the end of the intro, he was growing increasingly tired and was unable to keep himself awake.
He closed his eyes as he lay limp on the mattress. The show continued to run in the background before suddenly glitching out into static noise. The lights shut off, throwing the home into complete darkness. Footsteps approached the door, a faint light following. The door opened and the light scanned the room.
"M/n? You alright? Dad went to go fix the power," said the voice of what sounded to be an adult woman. The light landed on M/n, who appeared to be asleep. The woman smiled and walked closer, kneeling down by his bedside. She brushed her hand against his cheek fondly before her entire body tensed up.
But she must've been imagining it, so she tried to relax. She stood back up and almost walked out the door. Though her paranoia wouldn't let her leave without checking. She walked back, aiming her flashlight towards her son and watching his stomach to see it rise and fall. A few seconds went by and she was getting impatient and worried. She shook his shoulder then put her hand under his nose, hoping she'll feel his warm breath on her skin, but she didn't. Full fear took over and she panicked, beginning to scream out her son's name as she continued to try and shake him awake. "M/n? M/n! Wake up! M/n, please!"
Her flashlight began to flicker, but that was the least of her concerns. The light grew dimmer and dimmer till the room went pitch black, and everything disappeared.
{...}
M/n slowly opened his eyes with a yawn, feeling dizzy and disoriented. He expected to be met with the plain walls of his room, but he was instead greeted by an infinite space of white nothingness. When he attempted to stand, it was as if gravity didn't exist, making him spin around and around. But was he really spinning? It was hard to tell when everything was pure white with no horizon in sight.
