Thursday...

On a calm windy Thursday afternoon, the three musketeers, consisting of Nicole, Jecka, and Daniel, were in the small training area of the gym, just finishing their sparring session. It had been two weeks since the announcement of Nicole's training, and so far, she wasn't making excuses, nor trying to weasel her way out of it. Daniel has even seen Nicole early once! That's crazy!

To get back on track, Daniel was seen wiping some sweat from his brow, today's events causing him to perspire.

"Nice job with that counter Nix. Put me on edge there," Daniel told Nicole, a smile never leaving his face.

"Yeah, if only I wasn't immediately countered from that counter and slammed on the mat like I'm about to get violated," Nicole responded. Daniel sighed. He may have won some of Nicole's good side, but her way of speaking will never change.

"You kinda did," Jecka said, smirking.

"I meant in that way Jecka!" Nicole said, "I know I lost!"

"Of course you did Nicole," Daniel and Jecka said.

...

"JINX!"

"Ugh," Nicole groaned, her hand slapping her forehead for a facepalm.

"So are we done for today?" Nicole asked.

"Yeah. I have to go to work now," Daniel said, getting up.

"Seriously? Not only do you work out regularly, but you work too?" Nicole asked, genuinely surprised by Daniel's schedule.

"It's more like community work. They call us for a job, we do the job, we get paid. Simple," Daniel said.

...

"Huh," Nicole said, "So, like a part-time job?"

"Essentially, yeah," Daniel said, "You can tag if you want some time. We can use extra hands."

"Ooh! Can I come!?" Jecka asked.

"Don't you have coursework?" Daniel asked.

"Don't you?"

"I did all my work in lunch," Daniel said, "So, haha!"

"Nerd!"

"Bimbo!"

"Can you you two cut the marriage short?" Nicole asked, "I don't need to hear the romantic disputes."

"We're not--"

"It's a joke Daniel, relax," Jecka said.

"Anyways, I'm going to go home and die, possibly. We'll see," Nicole said as she got her things and left.

"Don't die, please!" Daniel called out to her as she opened the door.

...

"We'll see," Nicole simply answered, closing the door.

Nicole's home...

SQUEAK!

It was already past 9 PM by the time Nicole had gotten home. The bus had taken longer than expected, but surprisingly, no guys approached her the entire way home. It was like a warning to prepare her for something that could come her way.
