After you had calmed down, you noticed Catnap was deathly quiet and when you turned around you noticed he was staring at DogDay.

No, not DogDay exactly.

He was staring at DogDay's arms wrapped around you but when he noticed you noticed he quickly looked away.

When you looked back at DogDay, he was staring directly at Catnap.

"What happened to the rest of the smiling critters, you try to kill them too?" DogDay said coldly toward Catnap which made the purple feline flinch.

Catnap quickly shook his head and then his head hung low.

"My lord killed them..." He practically whispered which made both you and DogDay freeze.

After a few moments of uncomfortable silence, you finally spoke up.

"Catnap, can I ask you something?" You spoke up.

He looked at you and nodded.

"You seem like you don't even like him and if I'm right then why do you still serve him?" You asked.

Catnap stared at you, his pupils dilating.

"I have no choice." He admitted.

"But..." he then spoke up.

"He said he'd save me, save us, make us better!" He suddenly said louder than he had spoken in a bit which made you jump, his pupils turned dangerously small again.

"What are you..." you paused not knowing what to say and you looked at DogDay for help.

"Catnap, he's lying to you." DogDay stated in a matter of fact tone.

"But he promised..." Catnap said, his ears drooping.

"What exactly did he promise you?" DogDay asked carefully, his eyes seemingly narrowing.

"He promised me humanity for all of us and that nothing bad would ever befall us as long as we all worshipped and trusted him." He explained.

DogDay was about to speak but you beat him to it.

"What do you mean humanity?"

Catnap paused, his pupils getting even smaller.

"Well, my lord is capable of many things, including turning us all human..." he paused. "Or at least making us seem or appear human. And I wanted that so I could find you so I followed what he said." He finished.

"You did this because you wanted to find me?" Your eyebrows furrowed.

"Yes but I didn't know it would cause this much pain and destruction and I also didn't know that he would do this to my friends, it all happened so suddenly and he wouldn't allow me to grieve, he said that it was inevitable since they were heretics and didn't listen to him." He explained further.

All this new information made your head hurt and you didn't know what to think.

You just looked between Catnap and Dogday in confusion.

Catnap although pupils dilated and looking slightly crazed, looked extremely guilty as if everything had just hit him all at once while on the other hand Dogday just looked zoned out, deep in thought about something but there was no humor in anyone's faces, although smiling.

None of you really knew what to say so it was silent for a while until you all heard a scraping sound and Catnap froze and looked toward you guys warily.
