Park Outing

It was a sunny afternoon in July, so me and Y/c thought it would be a great to take the kids to the park.

When we arrived at the park, Avia and Azalea ran ahead, ready to explore the playground. Y/c and I sat on a nearby bench, making sure to keep an eye on the girls.

"Want one?"

I looked over and saw Y/c holding out a starburst. I nodded, taking it. "Thank you." He stuffed the rest of the pack in the pocket of his sweatpants.

I was talking to Y/c about the girls dance recital that was coming up next week when the girls ran up to us. "Mommy can we have a drink?" I reached into the bag we brought and pulled out two capri-suns. 

"Wait Lea come here." Azalea walked closer to me putting her hands on my thigh. "Turn around I gotta fix your hair." She did as told letting me fix her messy ponytail.

"Alright there. You can go play now. Be careful." The twins gave us a thumbs up before running back off to play. We watched as the girls were getting off the slide and running back to the stairs.

While running to the stairs, Avia fell. "Oh my" I said watching her. She got back up and ran after her sister. I looked at Y/c to see him looking back at me. We bursted out laughing at what just happened.

I laid my head on his shoulder, rubbing my hands together. "You cold?"

"Yea a little." I said. Y/c shook his head, placing his hoodie onto me. "I told you to get a jacket just in case." I shrugged. "Well I didn't think it would be cold. It's like seventy three degrees."

He placed a small kiss on my head causing me to smile.

The girls played tag, went on the swings, and tried to climb the monkey bars.

The sun started to set, meaning it was time to go home. Y/c called the twins over, "Ave and Lea come here." The little girls in the pink sweat suits ran over, breathing harshly.

"Mommy I'm hungry." Ave said, licking her lips. I brushed my hands over her hair, "I know we're 'boutta go home so you can eat."

The little twin girls raced each other to the car, with me and Y/c trailing behind them. I placed Azalea into her car seat and Y/c placed Avia into hers.

I hopped into the car, putting in my seatbelt. Y/c did the same, turning on the radio. Snooze by Sza played through the speakers of the car.

Y/c pulled out of the parking lot, heading home.

While we were at a red light, Y/c reached over and took my hand into his. He gave it a light squeeze before kissing it. I smiled at the kind gesture.

I looked in the back seat to see the kids sleep. I grabbed my phone,snapping a picture.

As we pulled into our driveway, I couldn't help but think about how lucky I was to have Y/c by me side and our beautiful children.

Y/c held the sleeping twins as I unlocked the door. He placed them on the couch, slipping their shoes off. I told him to wake them up so they could shower, eat, then go back to bed.

The girls woke up, being very energetic.

I asked Y/c to get started on dinner because giving the girls their shower was going to take a while. Azalea didn't want to get into the tub. She cried and screamed, giving me a hard time.

But with the threat of taking away her dessert for tonight, she decided that she would stop and get in the tub.

After about forty minutes later, both twins were dressed and ready to eat. They watched tv until the food waiting for the food to be done.

In the meantime I went ahead and took my shower, so after dinner I could put the girls to sleep and get in my own bed.

By the time I was out and went into the kitchen the girls were at the table eating. I saw that Y/c also made my plate. I thanked him with a quick kiss and sat down.

Y/c then sat down at the table with us. We laughed, and talking about random things with the girls.

After dinner, the girls brushed their teeth and Y/c went to take his shower. As I was going to tuck Azalea in first Y/c walked into the room holding Avia. "Guess who I caught downstairs trying to eat a cookie."

"Aveee." I smiled. The little girl shrugged before wiggling out of her dads hold. She ran to her younger sisters bed giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"Night night sissy." Avia said hugging her younger sibling. Azalea repeated her actions. Me and Y/c told Lea goodnight goodnight and gave her a kiss.

It was now Avia's turn to get tucked in. We were walking her to her room when all of a sudden she stopped in the middle of the hallway. "Baby what are you doing?" She shook her head no.

"I don't wanna." I sighed, placing my hands on her shoulders, "baby come on." She shook her head no again. Y/c tried getting her to move too.

I really wasn't 'tryna deal with this tonight. We all had to wake up early tomorrow and if the girls don't get enough sleep their hard to handle.

I picked Avia up "what is going on with y'all today?"

We walked into Ave's room and placed her in the bed. Avia suddenly started crying out of no where. Me and Y/c looked at each other and he sighed. "I don't know she was just fine." I said.

We both comforted, letting her know that the quicker she went to sleep, the faster she'd be up. She shook her head no again.

"Baby it's okay."

"Wanna sleep with Lea." She cried. Me and Y/c gave each other a deadpanned face. He picked Ave up and we walked back to Lea's room.

I slowly opened the door peaking my head in. Lea raised her head up, with a questioning look. Y/c brought Ave in and placed her next to Lea.

Ave cuddled her little sister. My heart warmed at the sight. We said goodnight tot he girls and walked out.

Me and Y/c made it to our room. We pulled back the covers and got under them. I grabbed the remote and turned on our tv favorite sleeping show. I scooted close to my husband, laying my head on his chest.

He wrapped his arm around my body. "I don't know why she started crying. She usually doesn't do that." Y/c hummed, "Yea me either."

I yawned, "As long as she's sleep." Y/c gave my forhead a kiss and rubbed my arm.

Not long after we fell asleep, but not before setting our alarm for five am.
