The Faron Region was always a large tropical jungle, with an abundance of various plants and animals. Especially monsters. But what makes the Faron Region dangerous weren't the monsters that lurked in every corner— it was the lightning. Lightning storms were common in this region (too common maybe). These storms were harsh. It was always hard to traverse this area due to these weather conditions. Occasional travelers get struck by lightning, which leads them to be fatally injured.

However, this short Hylian wasn't going to let some rain and lightning stop him from finding all the shrines in this region!

______________

"When a lost hero calls down lighting from the sky/ The monk responds a giant mound on high..." , the minstrel sang.

"There's a puzzle in this somewhere, but as far I can tell, it could apply to a great many things.", the minstrel continues, "Anyway, may the light shine ever on your path." The minstrel continues playing his accordion.

The sky continues to pour down its heavy tears from the heavens. Rumbling sound of thunder was heard from a distance. Sounds of rushing water were heard from the waterfall by Calora Lake. The winds blew strong westerly, making the leaves and plants move the same direction. The sounds of critters cheerfully playing in the rain were near. Despite the surrounding sounds from this region, it felt... peaceful. (The downpour, however, was an exception to this "peacefulness.")

Link walked closer towards the mound, observing it. Lightning struck from a distance. The golden locks of his hair were dampened by the rain; it was quite irritating to the hylian. And his clothes were soaked to the bone already. The storm wouldn't die out anytime soon, so he retreats to a nearby palm tree to take cover.

Link couldn't tell where he exactly was on his Sheikah Slate; since he didn't activate the tower of this region. He didn't know if there was a nearby stables or village, so he decided to solve the puzzle the rito mentioned. 'Until the storm dies off,' Link thought.

He then noticed the markings on the mound, which resembled lightning. Maybe lightning was supposed to be stricken there? He hums to himself, holding his chin with his hand. Link tried to think of a way to call upon lightning.

He didn't have anything made of metal that could attract the lightning; so he looked around the area to find anything that could help. Link used the "Magnesis" function on his slate to find a metallic object, only to fail.

The blond hylian sighs in defeat and rubs his face. "How am I supposed to call upon lightning?", he groans with frustration.

"I can help", an unknown voice said.

The boy turned around. The soft but firm voice belonged to a... Gerudo? He wasn't sure. She looked more like a hylian. Link was a little startled when she spoke; he didn't think anyone else would be around here (especially when it was pouring). 'Who is she?', he asked himself. Did she need something from him?

"I overheard the conversation you were having with the accordionist", she pointed towards the direction of the rito with her thumb.

" I had a feeling that I should help you out with this puzzle." Link was hesitant and was about to refuse; however, he didn't want to sound rude towards the red-haired girl. So, he let her.

"That verse...", the girl replied "you need to call upon lightning, right?"

"Yes, but I don't have anything metal to attract it," he said sheepishly. Another lightning struck down from a distance. "It's a good thing I have my scimitar! You can use it," the girl said, cheerfully. "...Thanks", he replied.

The girl unsheathed her scimitar, then placed it on the Hylian boy's hands. Link thanked her again. He then tried to climb up the mound. It proved to be a little difficult because of the rain. Finally, he placed the metal weapon on the peak of it.

"HEY!", the girl shouted from a distance to him, "YOU SHOULD GET OUT OF THERE. I DON'T THINK YOU WANT TO GET ZAPPED BY LIGHTING." A small fizzle sound was made near the weapon.

"WHAAT?!" The sounds of rumbling were getting closer.

"I SAID GET OUT THERE!" More fizzle sounds were made, they were getting louder.

"Oh dear Hylia," the short hylian said fearfully. In the last second, just before the lighting struck, he jumped off the mound. The landing... wasn't very pleasant. He tried to stick the landing, only to slip and roll on the wet, muddy ground— it was definitely unpleasant. The red-haired girl ran up to him, kneeling down to check on him. "Are you okay?," she asked with concern." The boy picked himself off the ground, rubbing the back of his head and sighed. "Peachy," he replied with a bit of sarcasm in his tone.

She then tried to help Link, only for him to refuse politely. Link tried to remove the mud that was on his light-blue tunic, only to fail miserably. "Hey, look," the girl pointed to a strange, glowing dome where the mound was before.

"It's a shrine," Link murmured.

The girl gazed at the supposedly "shrine" with her emerald colored eyes, mesmerized by its structure. She then noticed the crest on the shrine looked similar to the symbol on the slate the short stranger had. She wanted to ask him about the slate, but she didn't want to be noisy, so she brushed it off.

"Well... thanks for the help," Link said to the girl, "here's your scimitar."

"No need," the girl replied back, "you can have it!"

"But—"

"No 'buts'!" The red-head girl exclaimed, " besides... I don't think that boko bat is going to last." She pointed at the weapon that was on Link's back.

'True,' the hylian admitted, so he accepted the scimitar from the tall stranger.

"Well I have to go now," the girl sighed, " I don't want to be more soaked than I already am." The girl said her goodbyes to the hero, and so Link was left alone again.

"What was her name?"

Lightning struck from afar.
