Tortoisepaw is a classic people(cats) pleaser. She has slowly grown into being an aloof, likeable fur-ball that everyone loves. Deep down, she is totally pessimistic and would love to see all her 'friends' dead. 

Tortoisepaw hates everyone except her sister, whom she loves so deeply that she would kill for her. However, her sister has no idea how smart and calculated she actually is. When a rogue joins the clan as an apprentice called Sparrowpaw, Tortoisepaw finally finds someone who can see through her act. Eventually, the rogue and Tortoise forms a mutual liking for each other. The calico she-cat struggles with uncovering a deeper meaning in their friendship. 

As she is being given a warrior name, she is determined to sort out her relationship with Sparrowpaw once and for all.
