I blink my eyes open to find myself alone in my bed. I roll over and rub my forehead.

Now that I'm awake and conscious, I don't recall Elizabeth coming into my room last night. I guess that makes sense, since it's gotta be more serious now that we're... girlfriends.

I smile at the thought, leaping out of bed to prepare for breakfast. I hum a tune while getting ready, but my breath hitches in my throat when I realise I'll have to face David.

David, who locked me in his bathroom last night. I cough. Clearly no one is looking for me yet, since nobody has come barging in here to find me... So that must mean he was planning on mentioning my absence while at the breakfast table. I scowl at the thought of his face. How could I have ever trusted him.

The breakfast was set to start a few minutes ago, so I rush out of my room, down the hall. I duck behind the marble pillars, Which Elizabeth and I his behind on her first day, and listen. "Hmm," I hear David begin. "Isn't Kalese's lack of presence concerning to you? In fact I haven't seen her since yesterday morning..."

My mother and father look up as I strut into the room. "Sorry for my lateness." I speak, "I was helping one of the stable hands... She was feeling a bit ill." I wipe my hands on my dress, pulling my chair out.

I can see my mother whisper something to David. "Yes. She sure is very kind. And soooo beautiful, given not having a speck of dirt on her dress after being out in the stables." He grimaces.

I laugh, "Oh, silly you." I say, "Of course I changed out of my messy dress."

David flushes in embarrassment, looking down into his glass. I sit down in my seat, across from Elizabeth. "Though, I can recall, last night..." I start, pouting, "Seeing you down at the docks. With... hmm, who was it again? Oh, That's right! One of maids!"

He scowls. "You're vision must have deceived you. How could you have even seen me if it was dark, and you were supposed to be asleep."

"I was at the stables, remember." I say, calm. "Maybe your memory should be checked out..."

David rolls his eyes and shuts up as the food arrives at the table. It occurs to me Elizabeth doesn't know why I'm being so hard on him. And lying. I look up to meet her eyes and find her staring to her left, out the window. Her head perched on her hand, lost in thought. I stretch my foot out, under the table, and tap hers.

Her head snaps towards me, but her gaze softens as she spots me. "Oh, Kalese! I was just thinking about you." My eyes widen and I kick her a bit harder. "I saw you out the window... You where... what was it? at the stables."

I smile. "Yeah." I blush and dig into my food. This is good. This is great.

Sorry for the massive wait ,and also the short episode. I've been abit burnt out, and I also had zero clue how to continue the story for the confession. I hope this is good enough, and hope you enjoyed!
