CAINE'S MANSION

Caine and Elena are in the kitchen. Elena is sitting at the counter as Caine places a cup of coffee in front of her

Elena: It was their mother; the Original Witch

Caine: I knew that already, darling.

Elena: Look, Elijah promised me that his family wouldn't hurt any of us.

The doorbell rings.

Elena: I believe him.

She walks out of the kitchen and opens the door. No one is there, but on the doormat is an envelope with an ornately-handwritten "Elena Gilbert" on the front. She picks it up, closes the door, and turns around.

Caine comes up behind her looking over her shoulder at the envelope.

Caine: What's this, darling?

She presses a sweet kiss to Elena's shoulder. Elena opens the envelope and removes a card.

Elena: It's an invitation. "Please join the Mikaelson Family, this evening at seven o'clock. For dancing, cocktails and celebration."

Caine: Oh so they want to throw a house warming party? Shall I bring crumpets?

Elena turns the card over and sees there's writing on the back.

Elena: Wait, there's a note on the back. "Elena, I think it's time that we finally meet, Esther.

Caine isn't paying attention as she nibbles at Elena's earlobe earning a moan in response

Elena: C-Caine-----

Caine: Hmm?

Elena: If Esther wants to talk to me, maybe I should fin----Oh!

Caine trails her lips down to her neck, sliding her hands up her chest, groping her breasts. Elena shivers, biting down on her lips.

Elena: I should-----I should find out what she wants

She wiggles out of her hold and walks past her but again runs face first into the wall, she chuckles nervously before heading upstairs

Caine: I love it how I make you so flustered, darling.

MYSTIC GRILL

Elena and Caroline are sitting at a table

Elena: It's all so weird. The Originals are throwing a ball. Like an actual ball.

Caroline: It's some twisted Cinderella fetish is what it is. And why does the Evil Witch want an audience with you?

Elena: I have no idea. There's only one way to find out.

Caroline: I thought you told Caine that you weren't going.

Elena: I did, which is all the more reason why I need a drama free bodyguard.

Caroline: Well, I think a sibling would look a lot better in a tux. And by that I mean Abel

Elena: It's weird, right?

Caroline: What's weird?

Elena: I'm dating Caine, the First Murderer and you got a crush on Abel.

Caroline blushes, tucking her hair behind her ears

Caroline: I don't----I don't have a crush on Abel

Elena gives her a look raising her eyebrow

Caroline: Maybe I do. A small one. I don't know.

Rebekah walks up to the table

Rebekah: Careful Caroline. It's all well and good until she stabs you in the back.
