Chapter 1: Broken Promises
Never again will she break so easily, her mind was set in stone after her failed relationship, which got her to where she currently is standing... She held onto her prison cell, after being caught attempting to murder the Crown Prince.
"Curse you, Oliver!" She whispered as she shook the bars with her hands making a clanging noise.
"Silence!" The guards yelled.
Julia just sighed in defeat as she went back to the bench and looked up at the only source of light in the room she was in, a window covered in bars.... She leaned her back against the cold walk, and she flinched. The injuries from her back weren't fully healed yet, and her clothes weren't in the best of condition... Not after what happened yesterday....
Flashback
Speaking of, Yesterday was a whole mess, Julia was working as a servant for the Royal Family. While in the kitchen preparing their meal, the Prince came in.
"Is Julia here?" He asked as he entered the room, Julia's ears perked up, She turned around with her knife and threw it towards the Prince's direction, luckily he was able to avoid it, and the knife is now stuck to the wall.
The young man smirked.
"There you are." He says as he walks towards her. She stood there, arms crossed above her chest. He walked closer towards her, and he placed his hands on the counter once he was close enough.
"You little mischief." He says as his face was inches closer to her.
Julia didn't flinch, but instead grabbed his hand, as she was about to twist it, he grabbed it using his other hand and pinned her hand to the wall.
"I knew it....why?" He asked
His eyes were glossy, he used his left arm to touch her face.
"Oliver, you know why." She says
"If you kill me, I'll kill you. Then we die together. Till death do us part, remember?" He says as he gently finger combs her hair.
Julia and Oliver secretly married a few years ago, they fell in love the moment she entered the palace as a maid. But recently, the true reason why Julie married Olive, the Crown Prince, is slowly being revealed.
They became more distant towards each other. And her plans were coming through well, she successfully was able to poison the King without being caught, however, Oliver caught on to this, but he doesn't reveal it. Because he loves her, and yet she doesn't do the same.
"What happened to the Julia I used to know?" He asked, as he leaned forward.
Julia used one of her hands to pull his face away from her.
"I'm sorry, Oliver...." She whispered.
"I have a surprise for you, tomorrow morning.. Make sure you're ready." He says as he kissed her on the lips and left.
End of Flashback
And that's how she got her, Oliver was fed up with her failed murder attempts at his father that he had to do something about it. He lured her to a corner and arrested her.
But before she was put in a cell, she was hit on the back with a wooden plank 50 times. Then she was thrown into the cell.
"I'm sorry, my love. But you have gone too far." Was the last thing she heard before going unconscious.
And now that she's awake, the sky through the window is dark, telling her that another day has yet to come. The bell rang in the distance and a guard came bringing with him trays of bread and water, the only food she'll be eating for the rest of her days living in this cell.
