The Hybrid

-chapter 10-

Ashley's p.o.v

I woke up in a bed that I don't know.

I did the only thing reasonable.

I screamed.

In a second Mark was by my side holding my mouth shut. I gasped because of the sparks I was feeling.

"Are you done?" He asked and I nodded my head.

"Where are we?" I asked looking around. I was in a bedroom that I didn't know. I was in a big kind size bed that I didn't know. The only thing I did know was that Mark was right beside me.

"You are in my room and in my bed." Mark said bluntly sitting in the chair by the bed.

I looked at him and he had dark circles under his eyes.

"How long was I out?" I asked laying back down on the bed.

"A few hours."

"How did we get back the last thing I remember is being locked in a cell with you across from me."

"Well my brother Daniel rescued us from the cell. And let's just say when one of the rogues tried to attack me, you kinda set him on fire." Mark said looking at me expectantly. 

"What?! But I am a mermaid and I can only control water!" I said getting nervous.

"I know. I know."

"What is happening to me?" I asked taking his hand and looking in his eyes. He looked at me and he was frowning.

"I honestly don't know." Mark said shaking his head and then running his free hand through his hair. It was then that I noticed that I was still holding his hand. I quickly took my hand away.

"Well I am going to go because I need to uh yeah." With that he left.

I fell back on to the bed.

How could I control fire? I am a freakin mermaid! Plus what creature could control fire? Not any that I know. 

I have to ask my mom about this. 

Bailey's p.o.v

Me and Daniel got back to my house after dropping Jason off at his house. I walked in and was immediately engulfed into a hug.

"Where the hell have you've been?I have been worrying sick. I thought someone took you!I even called Matilda to help-"

"What you called Matilda?" I asked shocked.

Matilda is a witch that can't be trusted. We were friends with her until she tried to take my powers for herself.

"Uh yes?" My mom looking sheepish.

"WHAT THE HELL MOM SHE ALMOST KILLED ME!" I yelled and she backed away in fear. I went up to her and hugged her feeling bad.

"Sorry just a little worked up because I really don't want to go through that experience again." I said. I pulled away and then mom finally looked at Daniel who was standing awkwardly by the door.

"What the hell is this piece of shit doing her?" My mom growled at Daniel. 

"I am the one who saved Bailey and her friends from the rogues." He said not getting intimidated by my mom.

"Rogues?"My mom asked me looking over me looking for any injuries.

"Yeah I will tell you later but I need to speak to Daniel in private. And I mean you don't snoop with your little ears." I said pointing a finger at my mom while grabbing Daniel's hand and leading him to the back door.

Before I closed the door she yelled "My ears aren't small!" Before the door slammed.

I went to sit at the table and gestured to Daniel to sit across from me.

After a few minutes I spoke, "What are you doing here anyway? I made sure to avoid anywhere to where you can find me." I said glaring at him.

"Well I didn't know you were her until I found where Mark was hiding and then I saw you go into the same school as him." He said.

"Why don't you realize that I ran away from you for a reason? You tried to rape me! I wasn't ready yet you don't give a shit about anything except for yourself and what you want." I spit out at him and he looked at me angrily.

"I was drunk! I didn't know what I was doing!" He said looking at me and then slumping in his seat. 

He looked me and then said something that caused butterflies in my stomach,"I will always love you. You are incredibly gorgeous. You are shy when you first meet people but when you are more comfortable you have this sarcastic side and is incredibly funny. You have this spark in this eyes that shows that you will not give up until you show that your right in an arguement. When you are around me my heart speeds up and I get really nervous like I am going to say something wrong. I love you so much. It hurts. And I know you are some type of new creature so you might have a mate and you might not but even if you do I will fight to the death for you. I love you so much." By then he was in tears and it looked like something clicked inside of him.

"I am so sorry for what I did to you. I am also sorry for what I did to the people I hurt after you left. I slept with so many women." I cringed at that," I killed them after I was satisfied and then I would go drink random people's blood and then kill them. I didn't care because I was just trying to numb the pain I felt when I lost you." He said and I knew then that I was still in love with him. Even though he messed up, I still love him. I also know that this person sitting across from me with his head in his hands and crying like a baby is so broken and I feel bad because I was part of it.

I got up and I walked up to him. I kneeled in front of him and then put my hands on his cheeks and kissed with all the feelings that I had for him.

"I am so sorry Bailey." He said when we pulled apart.

"I forgive you." I said and then kissed him again.

"I love you Bailey." He said looking at me with some much love and sincerity.

"I love you too." I said meaning every word of it.
