The Hybrid

-chapter 18-

Mark's p.o.v

I got home after dropping off Ashley and walked in to the golden couple making out on the couch.

"Get a room." I said and they immediately sprang apart.

"Hey little bro what's wrong you looked pissed." Daniel stated bluntly and I gave him the middle finger.

"I met Ashley's parents and-"

"Wow that was quick but I thought she rejected you?" Daniel interrupted.

"Yes she did reject me but she ran away from home so I went to the hospital were her brother's was at and anyway he's fine by the way," noticing Bailey's concerning face," He was supposed to die but Ashley saved him some how." I said and then sat down the chair across from the couch in the living room.

"How?" Bailey asked.

"I don't know all I know is that Ashley started crying about Preston and she was also mad at me for some odd reason and then this light shone and Ashley passed out and Preston started healing in front of our eyes. Faster than even a vampire can do." I said rubbing my forehead suddenly getting a headache from all this commotion.

"That's strange." Bailey said.

"For real." Daniel said.

"Don't say that it doesn't suit you." Bailey said scrunching her eyebrows together.

Daniel just laughed and kissed her forehead. I groaned and got up and went to my room hoping to get some well needed sleep.

I woke up to my cell phone ringing. I looked at the time and it said it was already noon.

"Hello?" I asked not even looking at the caller id.

"Hey Mark this is Preston something happened with Ashley and-" 

"I'm on my way." I said before springing up and leaving but Bailey stopped me on my way out.

"Mark can I talk to you?" She asked looking a little desperate.

"I need to go see Ashley." I said

"What?Why? Can I come?"

I groaned and then nodded and we headed towards Ashley's house.

When we got there Preston was waiting outside.

"Hey Bailey, Mark." Preston said and then led us inside.

Ashley was on the couch passed out again.

I groaned.

I have been doing that a lot lately.

"What happened?" I asked.

"I don't know but Ashley went to go talk to our mom in our office and then I see this glowing light and I ran in there to see Ashley and my mom passed out on the floor." Preston said looking worriedly at Ashley.

"Where is your mom?" I asked looking around for her but she wasn't here.

"My dad took her to the hospital because her heart rate was slow but he has to leave for a business trip soon so I will go there and I need you to stay here with Ashley." Preston explained.

"Okay fine." I said after thinking through it.

"Thanks." Preston said before heading out the door.

"Wear a seat belt!" I called out and he flipped me the bird before closing the door.

I pulled up a chair next to the couch and took Ashley's hand in mine.
