Chapter 6

K-01 Palace of Sun

Marshal James kneeled in front of the crown and saluted towards the Throne. 

 A man was sitting on the Throne. Even though he wasn't wearing any official dress , it didn't even slightly diminish his powerful aura. He emitted the power that was suitable for an Emperor. His face was proud and his silver hair shone in the sunlight showing the imperial family's unique traits. If nobody knows, he can still be considered in his late 20s and was extremely handsome. Even though his eyes were closed, it didn't make his face look peaceful but his frowned eyebrows showed that he was uncomfortable. 

“Your Majesty.. “ Marshall James called. 

Slowly the person sitting on the throne opened his eyes.  His Golden eye showed a hint of redness. His face  looked as cold as ever. 

“What was the result.?” He asked. 

“He agreed.” Marshal said without even being affected by the chill in the voice. 

Suddenly, the hand that was placed on the throne flinched.

The Emperor  George Le'Marcks looked at his subordinate's face, as if he wanted to make sure what he heard was not his illusion.

“It's true Majesty, the Second Prince accepted the invitation to attend his highness king Mo's anniversary.” Marshall said, emphasising each word clearly. 

Emperor George closed his eyes again. As if he was trying to hide his complicated emotions. 

Marshall James didn't utter a single word, he waited till the emperor could calm down.

“But.. “ After some time he continued. 

“He wants to attend the anniversary not as a Prince but as A General.” Marshall James' words echoed in the palace. 

“What..?” The emperor looked at Marshall. Sudden pressure from the emperor made James flinch but he didn't stop and continued. 

“He also didn't want to maintain any close relationship with the whole imperial family.”His words were like needles in the emperor's heart. 

“And you agreed..?” The Emperor asked. 

“Yes.” He paused and continued. “Forgive me for making a decision without consulting you.” James bowed his head. Though he apologised, his face didn't show that he was apologetic.

Though he respects the emperor and is loyal to him, as a friend of the King, he can never accept the emperor's behaviour of abandoning the Prince who was powerless to protest. For the promise he made with his friends, he will protect the imperial family, but that doesn't mean he will agree to all the decisions made by the emperor. Though he knows the fact that  the real reason behind the abandoning of the child wasn't the same as how the outside world sees it. But it didn't hide the fact that the emperor really did abandon his child. Whatever the reason is, he could never fully agree to that. 

That's why he didn't hide anything and told the emperor everything and made his own decision, even after knowing the fact that it could maybe harm him. 

“How could you… “

The emperor was enraged.The emperor looked murderously at the Marshall.

Marshal James, who was surprised by the mental power, didn't show any weakness. 

“Stop it father..” A sound suddenly heard from the corner. 

The Emperor and the Marshall looked towards the corner. The first prince Joseph came out of the shadow; his forehead clearly showed the pressure he was facing. His brows were furrowed and was sweating.
