I woke up shouting and feeling disoriented. My chest was heaving up and down from the intensity of my dream. I could not remember what dream though.
I held my chest as I felt an immense physical pain from the sudden movement. I focused on my breathing and looked around... only to find myself in my room in my pack. In my pack.
The feeling overwhelmed me. Tears threatened to come out of my eyes as the feeling of relief came over me. I'm finally home. And with my people.
Miguel...
I called in the mind link. Not even a few minuted passed by, Miguel, Caden, Josh, and Luis all appeared in my room.
They all had small smile on their faces.
"Alpha Kloe...you've been out for two weeks. Thank goddess you're awake now." They bowed a little. I saw Josh and Luis tearing up a bit. I smiled and tried to stand up.
They immediately went to my side to help me stand but I just looked at them sharply. They scratched their heads and just stood beside me, ready to catch me if I fall.
"Miguel!" I couldn't help the cheer in my voice as I threw up my hands for a hug.
"You had us worried... really worried, and scared..." I hummed as a response.
"We thought we'd never see you again..." I sniffed, fighting the tears back as I hug Miguel tighter.
"Me too..."
"Alright, our turn now." Caden said and gave me a tight hug.
"We missed you..." Luis said as he wipes his eyes after our hug.
"You've gotten taller, Josh." Josh's laugh vibrated in his chest as he envelops me in a hug.
"I lost weight!" Cole pouted as he hugged me too. These guys are such huggers.
"You did!" I inspected his biceps and the fats he lost from his face.
"It's your fault; you had us all worried. Especially Lilia. She kept crying at night. She missed you so much."
Speaking of Lilia, she went inside the room crying and enveloping me in a tight crushing hug.
"I missed you, too, Lilia. Shh..." She aged, most probably from the stress of the recent events, and I felt bad that she had to go through so much at her age.
"I thought we'd never see you again... and when you did come home, you were almost dead! I almost followed you!" She looked at me with tears in her eyes as if inspecting me if I was real or just her dream.
"I'm sorry for worrying you, Lilia. But I'm fine now. Please don't cry. This isn't good for your health." I smiled gently at her and squeezed her hand to further assure her. She nodded and smiled meekly.
"Intruders from South Wing of main house! 8 minutes 'til contact!" One of the sentinels patrolling the perimeter informed us through the mind link. Great, I've only been awake for 5 minutes-ish and another problem happens?
Am I ever going to get a break?
My wolf was still weak from the attack she took from the demon. It was the first encounter she had with that vile creature and I couldn't blame her. Werewolves are no match for a demon on a one-on-one fight.
A werewolf could win, but hardly. They had all the power, strength, and abilities. Some are even unknown. And I should've known better than to let my wolf take over.
Miguel and I nodded at each other, knowing what to do with just one look. They all hurriedly went out of my room after giving me a nod, a sign that they need to tend to the matter at hand.
