My mother has always been overprotective towards me. To the point where she always did a check of the people I used to hang around. Dahyun was the very first friend I made and she was also approved by my mother. Then came Sakura. Well, she got approval too.

My mother thinks that if I'm in a good company then everything will be good. Clean; in her words.

And I love my friends.

So I wasn't surprised when they bombarded me with questions right after I had woken up in the infirmary. Sakura wouldn't stop questioning until Dahyun shut her down after noticing that I was not in the condition to answer them. I was exhausted, confused and scared.

I vaguely remember the darkness that enveloped me, suffocated me ,making it harder to breathe, a presence that pushed me inside the room. The incident brought back memories that I should've forgotten but scars leave traces. And the traces sometimes ; oftentimes are never good.

I thought I'd die there. In the dark, with my fear killing me and none to save me. But then, he arrived. The person I had never expected to save me. Jeon Jungkook.

His piercing gaze and strong arms enveloped me, chasing away the darkness and fear that had gripped me. I felt a sense of safety in his embrace, a sense of security that I had never felt before. He held me like I was fragile, like I was precious, and in that moment, I felt like I was.

I saw something in his eyes that I had never seen before. Something that made my heart race, something that made me feel seen. And I didn't want to be seen by him. Anyone but him. The guy plays with death, who gets off on seeing someone be scared of him.

But in that moment, I couldn't deny the comfort I felt in his arms. The sense of protection he offered was like a balm to my battered soul. I felt like I could trust him, like he would keep me safe from the darkness that had haunted me.

But I knew better.

"Are you even listening?" I flinched at the sudden voice that pulls me out of the past and brings me to the present. The incident happened yesterday. I went back to an empty house but Mrs Shin panicked seeing a small bandage on my left knee and my wrist. I had to assure her instead of being the one who needed assurance.

I hated that.

"You're talking nonsense, Sakura." I state, a puff of breath erupting from my mother as I narrow my eyes on my two friends who wouldn't stop questioning or giving me looks after yesterday's incident. "How did he get there? How does he even know you?" Sakura asks, hand slamming on the table, earning glances from the people in the college cafeteria.
