It was winter, the whole city was covered in snow ,the streets were slippery and Christmas was a month ago. I loved Winters. It was perfect weather.

Snowflakes are like tears from the sky, reminding us of reflection and renewal.

I clicked my tongue as I stepped out of a Cafe with Dahyun following me behind. "What's wrong?" She asked, noticing the pout on my face. I pointed at the blank sky. "Wasn't it supposed to snow today?" I questioned, earning an eye roll from my dear best friend. "Come on, the weather reports are never right." She muttered with a matter of fact.

"I sometimes wish they were right." I scrunch my nose, annoyance filling up as I fist my hands in the pockets of my fluffy jacket. "You always want them to be right." Dahyun reasoned, checking her bag once again. "So what?" I ask, offended by her words. She shakes her head and then looks at me. "No one can predict nature, y/n. Not even the weather reporters." She says as if it's a fact.

I blink my eyes, not understanding much of her explanation. Dahyun was the topper after all and I'm just an average student, working hard to be in the top five at least. So far, I've reached the fourth position. My mother says that it's fine but I see that look in her eyes which she tries to hide.

The look of disappointment.

Dad really doesn't ask about my results until the final exams arrive so it's a winning situation there but I believe that my mom shares everything about me to him. Or maybe, the staff does.

"So they lie on national T.V so openly!" I gasp, honestly feeling betrayed. Dahyun laughs at me and pulls me to the other side of the cafe exit so I'm no longer blocking someone's way. "They don't entirely lie babe." She says while I let out a sigh. "I guess you're right," I admit, my pout slowly fading away. "But it's just so frustrating! I love snow so much, and I was really looking forward to it today."

Dahyun smiles sympathetically. "I know, me too! Maybe we will get to see some tomorrow?" She says as I let out a hum with a firm nod. "Let's grab some hot chocolate and check out the new bookstore tomorrow, what say?" Her eyes light up like firecrackers erupting in the sky on a summer evening. I narrowed my eyes on her then. "Do you wanna buy another criminology book?" I asked, being aware of her habits very well.

"Hey! Let's check out the cafe downtown there! Heard their matcha is really amazing." Dahyun adds as I twist my lips before speaking. "Sure. Matcha's are good everywhere by the way." I state with a matter of fact. She opens her mouth to argue some more but then her phone starts ringing. Dahyun pulls her phone out and starts talking.
