Chapter Seventy Eight

THE RAVEN

She looks at the silver platter hanging on the ceiling, and stares at her reflection, while Laura turns the music on. As the bass and drumbeats echo throughout the store, Laura walks to a corner of the room and recites the chant. As they follow it, Luna stares at her reflection, and her cheekbones drop, her face becomes squished, her eyes dilate and her irises lose color.

Within seconds, she breaks the concentration, and she sees Laura morphing into something she's never seen before. Sensing dark magic, her body becomes tight, and she closes her eyes, and a quick vision of a dark, grotesque face comes at her and hits her in the face.

"Luna, open your eyes. We're almost done. Focus on your reflection! You need to see dark magic. Its energy needs to hit you in order to finish the change!" Victoria yells, pulling her cloak hood over her head.

"Okay!" Luna says as she opens her eyes and looks at her reflection on the silver platter. With the vibration of music hitting her body, Luna then sees a dark reflection appearing in the silver platter. As they make eye contact, her face instantly matches theirs. Staring at one another, Geo's psychic self appears in front of her, and her body morphs in and out of him for a couple of seconds.

"Geo's here!" she says, as she senses that she's trying to read her.

"Just ignore him! We're almost done! I'm pretty sure he's only here to heighten his energy," Laura yells.

Staring at the dark reflection, it then emerges from the silver platter and hits her body. Making her extremely dark, she takes a couple of steps back, leans over, and puts her left hand on her chest. "Was that it? Was that dark magic? I felt dark for a few seconds."

"Yes! That was it," Laura says as she walks to the light switch and turns on the lights. As she stands there looking at the women taking the cloaks off their heads, she looks at Luna and asks, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah! I'm okay! That was interesting!" Luna says, pulling the hood off her head as Laura blows out the candles.

"Wow! That was interesting," Amelia says, walking to Luna with her eyes wide. As she then walks to the table, looks at the relics, she takes the cloak off, places it on the table, and says, "I can't believe we did a witch's ritual. I'm sorry for giving you a hard time about the witch's stuff!"

"Alright, ladies! Let's call it a night! Luna, go home and get some rest. You probably won't feel the greatest in a few hours. It will pass, though!" Victoria says, taking her black cloak off and draping it on the back of a chair.

"Okay! I'll see everyone in a few days," Luna says, taking her cloak off and puts it on a chair.

"No! You keep it! It's yours. You earned it," Laura says, as she walks to the silver platter and takes it down. She walks to Luna, hands it to her, and says, "Here! Take this as well! You deserve it. It's yours."

"Thanks," Luna says, as she takes the silver platter. Sensing dark magic from it, she looks at the platter and only sees her reflection, and says, "Well, like I said, thank you again."

"You're welcome!" Victoria says as she unlocks the back door.

Luna, Amelia, and Ivory walk out of the store and get into their vehicle. With Luna sitting in her vehicle, she looks in her rearview mirror and watches them pull out of the parking lot. She then looks at herself in the rearview mirror, sneezes in twos, and Geo appears in her psychic space. Sensing he's still trying to read her, she puts the vehicle in drive, pulls out of the driveway, and drives home as his psychic self, light up all around her.
