EnCee leaned against the cold, graffitied brick wall of the alley, his eyes scanning the deserted street. At 23, he was already deeply entrenched in the mafia, doing all the dirty work that came with the territory. He had learned to embrace the role of an anti-hero, using his cunning and skills to survive in a world filled with danger and deceit. With dark, intense eyes and a rugged demeanor, EnCee was a force to be reckoned with, feared by many and trusted by few.

Tonight, however, felt different. As he waited for his target, he couldn't shake off the feeling that something unexpected was about to happen. The moon hung low in the sky, casting an eerie glow on the abandoned alleyway.

Just as he was about to check his watch, a soft cry echoed through the night. EnCee's instincts kicked in, and he followed the sound, his hand instinctively reaching for the gun tucked in his waistband.

Turning a corner, he saw her-a girl no older than 22, with cascading chestnut hair and eyes that sparkled even in the dim light. She had an aura of beauty and shyness, making her look like she didn't belong in this harsh environment. She was surrounded by a group of thugs, clearly in distress.

"Please, just let me go," she pleaded, her voice trembling.

EnCee knew he shouldn't get involved. This wasn't his fight. Yet, something about her vulnerability stirred an unfamiliar feeling within him. Without thinking, he stepped into the fray.

"Hey," he called out, his voice low and menacing. "Leave her alone."

The thugs turned to face him, sneers spreading across their faces. "And who are you, her knight in shining armor?" one of them jeered.

EnCee didn't respond. Instead, he moved swiftly, his training kicking in. Within moments, the thugs were on the ground, groaning in pain. He turned to the girl, who was watching him with wide, grateful eyes.

"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice softer now.

She nodded, her eyes never leaving his. "Thank you. I'm Daisy."

"EnCee," he replied, feeling a strange sense of satisfaction as her name rolled off his tongue. "You should be more careful."

Daisy smiled, a warm, genuine smile that made EnCee's heart skip a beat. "I will. Thanks to you."

He nodded curtly, trying to ignore the way his heart was racing. "I have to go. Stay safe."

As he walked away, he couldn't help but glance back. Daisy stood there, watching him, a look of admiration in her eyes. EnCee shook his head, trying to push her out of his mind. He had a job to do, and distractions could get him killed.

Over the next few days, EnCee found himself thinking about Daisy more than he cared to admit. He tried to focus on his work, immersing himself in the dangerous world of the mafia. But every time he closed his eyes, he saw her face.

It didn't help that they kept running into each other. At the coffee shop where he went to clear his head, there she was, sipping a latte and reading a book. At the park where he took a moment to breathe, she was there, feeding the ducks. Each encounter made Daisy's crush on him grow, and despite his best efforts, EnCee couldn't deny that he was starting to notice her too.

One evening, as he walked through the bustling city streets, he heard a familiar voice. "EnCee!"

He turned to see Daisy, her face lighting up as she approached him. "Fancy meeting you here," she said, her smile infectious.

EnCee felt his resolve weakening. "Daisy, you should stay away from me. I'm not good for you."

She tilted her head, her eyes filled with determination. "I don't believe that. You saved me, remember? You're a good person, EnCee. I can see it."

He wanted to argue, to push her away, but something about her unwavering belief in him made it impossible. "I don't know what you see in me, Daisy."

She stepped closer, her hand gently brushing against his. "Maybe you just need someone to show you."

As they stood there, the city bustling around them, EnCee realized that for the first time in a long while, he didn't feel so alone. Maybe, just maybe, Daisy was exactly what he needed.

And so, despite the darkness that surrounded his life, a spark of hope flickered within him, all because of a beautiful, shy girl named Daisy who saw the good in a man like EnCee.
