I V A A N

"Two hours wasted still-" I stopped talking to myself when I heard the creaking sound of the door opening, making me think it was Dad or the investors, not that I was expecting someone else-Kavya?

"The fuck are you doing here?" The words left my mouth without any thought.

"You're supposed to meet me, Ivaan," she said, dripping with extra cringe.

She came towards me and held my arm. What the fuck does she think she's doing? I jerked my arm back. She fucking dared to touch me.

"Ivaan, I know you don't want to be with me. I am here to apologize." Great!

"Nothing can make me forgive you for all you've done," I said, looking away from her.

"What does that girl have? I can be her."

"You can never be her. You can never be my Adira. She wouldn't leave me like you did," I said proudly. Yes, I was proud to say that she's my woman.

"Do you think she didn't? While you're here, she's already left," she said, thinking I'd believe her.

"Stop trying to manipulate me," I said, my anger rising. Her presence was enough to anger me, but now that she's talking to me, I want to puke.

"I am not lying. She has left. If you don't want to believe me, you can verify," she said. So I called Tanvay.

"What is Adira doing" I asked, still glaring at her just to prove her-

"Sir, she's not here," To prove her that Adira didn't leave me?

"What happened? Didn't she come to the office today?"

"She did, but an hour ago your mother came to visit her, and after that, Adira ma'am just left the office. I don't know what happened, but she looked pale, her eyes were teary," he explained.

Now it was a question for me as well. I trusted her more than anything, but right now I wanted to talk to her anyhow to know how she was feeling. Did Mom say anything to her?

I stormed out of there, leaving Kavya smirking behind. I didn't have time to argue with her as right now only Adira mattered to me. I was practically flying while driving, calling her continuously and praying for her safety.

"Pick up the call, Adira, please. Tell me you're fine. Krishna ji, keep her safe, please. I love her so much." Terror was taking over me as I stressed about the thought of her leaving me.

I drove to my house to find out what exactly happened between her and my mom and where she was, because right now she wouldn't be at home. I asked the building owner. Vansh was also not at home; it was his school hours.

"Mom! Mom!" Before I could properly enter, my voice echoed in the mansion.

"Stop shouting, Ivaan," Dad said, annoyed, as evident from his expression.

"Stop it, Dad! What have you done, and where's-" I stopped when I saw Mom approaching us.

"Why are you shouting, beta?" she asked as if she knew nothing.
