This chapter talks about training a group of survivors how to scavenge abandoned stores or other buildings for supplies, fight as a group using melee and ranged weapons, as well as physical conditioning and confindence/obstacle courses

Note: you will probably not be able to train your team on everything below, priortize what you believe is most important to the missions and tactics you will be doing. If your enviorment adds a new risk, which is not covered in this list, it is up to you to make sure that your team is ready. Your lives and those of the others in your group depend upon it

Obstacle and confedence courses

In the zombie apocalypse.you will need to have the ability to climb and move in difficult terrian in oder to avoid the undead or even enter a scavenging spot. The following excercises are suggested to ensure confidence and competency

- Able to slide down and climb up a rope. (make sure to wear gloves) An example of when you might use this would be if you are stuck on level above ground and a threat is blocking you from going down the stairs. You could tie a rope to a sturdy object and you and your team could slide down it safely to the ground.

- able to climb up and over a chain fence

- able to cut with wireclippers or a multitool a hole in a chain fence or simiarily cut a padlock. If someone lacks the grip strength to these tasks it is better to find out now rather then in the field

-able to kick open a wooden door (remember to kick by the lock/door handel with your foot flat)

- able to climb over a solid wall, (will require teamwork to boost teammates over)

- Can army crawl, while carrying a heavypack or dragging a teammate

- Can firemen carry a teammate

- Can drag a teammate

- Can pack a backpack correctly with heavy stuff at the bottom and closer to your body, also make sure your team is able to run with the full weight of all their gear and weapons that they will be carrying

Weapons and medic training

- Ensure weapon compentency from prievous chapter. Priortize melee or ranged training depending on the gear you have

- Ensure they can complete basic medic stuff using the gear they have available and make sure to reread the application labels on Everything in your medkit

Tactical Rehearsing

- practice rehearsing tactical commands your team uses and make sure everyone knows and is familar with the commands.

- Before going on a scavenging or zombie elimination mission, check all your gear, weapons and that everyone knows the plan and goal

- if your team has not gone on a serious misson and time/supplies and risk permits go on a low risk misson

Ex: Say you are planning to retrieve supplies from an abandoned pharmacy, but your team has never been in combat together. Try eliminating a lone zombie or two nearby together, but make sure to have a back up plan in case you encounter a larger threat.

(Even if it is just four guys beating the shit out of one undead with baseball bats, it Will prepare you and your team, and I gurantee you will that you will all learn something about how you operate together)
