They head in, and each one orders the dish they had gotten used to eating. They then all look at each other with a smile.
"So, Clary, did you decide which collage you want to apply to yet?" asked Jack.
"No" she replied in a worried voice "I just can't decide"
"Well, you really should, there is a deadline or you'll miss a semester, how about you Bruce?"
Bruce sighs "Well, I think I'll be going to Germany; Cambridge is a bit farfetched"
"Hmm, don't give up, there is still a chance"
"I doubt that" replied Bruce with a disappointed look.
Tanner then wondered "So, why aren't Stacy and Kyle here"
Before there was a reply Jack rushed, "Let me guess", turning to Bruce he said "Kyle wasn't in the mood?"
They laugh and Bruce replies "Yeah, this is the second time in a row; I'm starting to think he hates us"
"Ohh he does" Jack said sarcastically.
"Even you?" Clary says smiling
"Especially me" he said as he laughed.
You could imagine that their talk went on forever, with the sound of their laughter causing everyone to look at them. Every time they would go to that café, they would draw everyone's attention. When they came, the waiters knew that they were up for a lighthearted evening. After an hour or so of laughter, they start remembering the adventures they had in the past. Clary and Tanner spoke of the quarrels they had while they were young. Bruce spoke of the heroic feats he accomplished during the civil war, and how he dealt with all kinds of criminals. He even explained what it was like to hang out with friends at that time;
"One time, me and my cousin were in a car, and this guy bumps into us, so he tries his luck and gets out of his vehicle and starts shouting like a maniac. So, me and my cousin, also a big like me, get out holding our ak-47s and just stare at him, and I kid you not he screamed like a girl when he saw those guns, because apparently he only had a machete!"
Those were completely normal stories for Bruce; they were the kind he told at parties. And surly he had thousands of them, the time his school was attacked by terrorists, the time his friend carried a mini-gun etc...
Jack however, had a lot less dangerous stories to tell, in fact, most of his tales were rather comedic. Maybe that was because Jack had this incredible talent to mess up most of the actions he does in life, no matter how simple.
One of the stories told, was one shared by both Jack and Bruce, with Jack trying as hard as he can to contain his laughter, he explains;
"So me and Bruce are walking on the highway trying to get to that place okay? And the sun is out and it's too hot, so we think that maybe it's best to find a shortcut, Bruce looks at this hole in a fence, and tells me that we should enter through that, it looked like a shortcut, so I get it in, and guess what? I'm on the runway in the Cairo airport!"
Bruce then continues "I hear him say airport and I go "nope", in a millisecond I'm all the way across the country and away from that fence"
They laugh, and Clary sarcastically suggests that they could hijack a plane that way.
"But where would we go?" wondered Tanner.
Jack smiled as if he knew that answer before the question was even asked "The Caribbean of course"
"What would you do there?"
"Hmmm, anything. You see, I want to live the life of the party, and no place for parties like the Caribbean. So if all it takes is hijacking a plane to get there, I would do it"
"All it takes?" Bruce remarks mockingly "No one gets away with a plane Jack"
"Well what if he doesn't? What if he jumps off the plane?"
"Hmm, well there was this dude who pulled it off; he hijacked a plane, opened its door, and parachuted over Cuba, he was never seen again, never caught"
Tanner, liking the whole idea, asks "So, we get in through the hole, get on a plane and just lift off?"
Bruce raised his eyebrow "Umm, of course not, the cops would catch up to you before you make it to the ocean, they have jetfighters remember"
Jack smiles and exclaims "Unless, they were too busy with something else"
Bruce, liking where this is going, gives an interested high pitched "Huh?"
"Let's say, for example, Kyle hijacks another plane, and threatens to land it in the middle of the Empire State building? I'm pretty sure this would keep the cops busy"
They smile, because this just got interesting, Clary, who was sipping from her drink, puts it down and says;
"Okay, but what then, he goes to jail?"
Bruce gives a slight laugh and replies "Not necessarily, he can wear a mask and as long as he shows no skin at all he won't give out DNA evidence, nothing, zero percent, and then he could pretend he's just a normal passenger"
Tanner asks "But let's say he left no evidence, how would he even hijack a plane?"
They silently think for a few moments, and then Jack calmly goes "Sleeping gas"
Clary looks at him with an inquiring look "Sleeping gas?"
"Yeah yeah, he gets two sleeping gas cans, and wears a gas mask and lets the whole plane sleep"
"What about the pilot, idiot" Bruce suggests
"I don't know, of course we'll plan for something like that, me and Kyle would take piloting courses"
"So Kyle will become the most wanted terrorist in the world for a few hours" says Tanner jokingly.
They laugh and Jack replies "Ohh yeah, sounds so much like him"
Then Clary complains "But this isn't fair, he gets all the action"
"And besides, how do we even make a living in the Caribbean?" adds Bruce.
"We don't" says jack while raising his brow "you want action and you want money" he adds pointing at Clary and Bruce respectively. "So we rob a bank"
They all burst laughing and Bruce starts clapping "Brilliant, so two planes and a bank?"
"Yeah I like that, more action" Clary jokes.
"But how do we pull it off?" asks Tanner.
"Simple" explains Bruce "we use the same tactic we used with the plane, we cause a distraction"
"How so?"
"Listen, I drop a small magnesium bomb in front of a major bank"
Before he can continue Clary interrupts "Magnesium bomb? Where are you going to get that?"
"Yeah, I can easily make those with the right ingredients, which are super easy to obtain. Anyways, I drop the bomb in front of a major bank, and while it blows up and draws all the attention, we rob another minor, but well loaded, bank"
"Still" asks Tanner "how are we gonna rob the small one?"
Jack smiles sarcastically and replies "That's not an issue, we just go with the old armed robbery, usually the problem with those is getting away, and since we'll be flying out of the country, we have nothing to worry about"
Clary looked impressed "Wow that might actually work"
Jack gets excited and exclaims "And you know the best part? No one would ever expect a bunch of teenagers to pull off something like that!"
"Actually" Bruce remarks "a bank got robbed by four fifteen year old girls before"
"You've got a creepy extensive knowledge of weird crimes don't you" Clary said while laughing, the rest laughed as well.
"I do, don't I, it's weird"
They continue talking in all sorts of stuff, and forget about the supposedly brilliant plan they just came up with, a few hours pass, and they realize that the time was late. They all get ready to leave, pay the bill, and go home. Each one of course grateful for the wonderful day they just spent. All of them were ready for their well deserved good night's rest, except for one; Jack. Something was on his mind, something that would not let him sleep...
