Warning Angst

Reiner x reader

~ Flashback~

You and Reiner were on horses running away from you homeland because it was over runned by titans once you were at a safe distance you got off you horse at sat at the bottom of a tree and broke down and cried. Reiner walked up to you and pulled you into his warm embrace.

"What are we going to do now" you spoke between sobs as you cried into his chest

"Find a place to say" Reiner said while rubbing circles on your back in a attempt to calm you down

You looked up into his eyes and he looked back into your teared filled (E/C) eyes you muttered

"We're are alone now"

He shook his head and said "No we're not we have each other, and I promise to never leave and protect you for as long as we are alive"

A smile played on your lips and you shoved your face back in his chest and wrapped your arms around him and tightened the embrace and said speaking into his chest "Thank you."

~ End of Flashback~

You were sitting down eating with Reiner since you both lost your parents once your home land was over runned by titans. You noticed that Reiner wasn't eatinghis food he was just pushing it around his plate he sighed and put his spoon down and looked at you until he decided to speak up.

"(F/N) I have to tell you something.."

"Ok, what is it" you asked as you placed a spoon of soup in your mouth

"I am joining the survey corps" he said in a serious voice

you sighed placing your spoon down and started to rub your temples until you looked up at him and said"Reiner, we have been over thi-"

he cut you off mid sentence and raised his voice in an annoyed tone

"No, (F/N) I have to do this I have to go it not your decsion it my own"

Your eyes started to water

"NO YOU CAN'T GO YOU PROMISED ME THAT YOU WOULD STAY WITH ME AND THAT YOU WOULD PROTECT ME REMEMBER" you yelled at him trying to hold back your tears

"I HAVE TO GO I CAN'T KEEP LIVING LIKE THIS, THE BEST WAY FOR ME TO PROTECT YOU IS TO TRY AND DEFEAT THE TITANS AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN SAY THAT WILL CHANGEMY MIND (F/N) I AM GOING TO DO THIS WEITHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT" Reiner got up and left you alone

"REINER DON'T YOU DARE, DON'T GO STAY WITH ME PLEASE" you yelled pleading for him to come back but he ignored you calls

(time skip)

Months upon months passed since that argument had taken place Reiner never came back or even sent a letter letting you know how he was doing.You were a mess. Your hair was matted, your skin was pale because you never went outside, you were so skinny that your cheeks caved in, your eyes were swollen andred because of all the endless crying you would do every night thinking about what you could have done differently to make the one you loved stay.

(time skip)

another month passed still not one word from Reiner. you heard a knock on your door you opened it to see, a tall man wearing a survey corps uniform was standing inthe door.

"Good Morning do you happen to be Miss (F/N)(L/N)?" he asked raising his brow,with a horase voice you spoke

"Yes that's me, how can i help you"

the man spoke once more "Do you by chance know a Reiner Braun?"

"Yes, yes I do" you muttered looking down saddness evident on your face 

the man handed you a folded survey corps cape with a letter on top of it the looked on the mans face softened as he spoke

"Well Miss I am here with a heavy heart to inform you that Reiner had died in battle, he was a very strong and brave soilder we were very lucky to have him"

You closed the door when the man started to walk away, you fell to your knees crying ugly sobs into Reiner's cape until you remembered the letter you quickly wipedyour tears and opened the letter and started to read,

'(F/N) if you are reading this letter it means i have died.I am really sorry about that agruement we had a while ago, I am so sorry about that I broke the promise i made to you i just felt that i could protect you better by defeating the titans and make sure you had a safe future and that you could live happy and free. I am so deeply sorry that i never came by to see you or that I never sent a letter, but there was never a moment in the day that you weren't on my mind, you were the only thing that kept me alive and fighting this long. Inever got the chance to tell you how much I loved you and how when I was supposed to be arriving home after we defeated the titans that I was going to make you mineand purpose to you. I am sorry I couldn't see you beautiful face before I died.(F/N) I love you so much but you must keep on living life happily with out me

Out of all the nights you cried this was hardest you have ever cried because the only thing that you loved and still had in this world was gone. The rest of the day you thought to yourself wondering what life would have been like if he had stayed with you.
