A Little Unicorn

Deku sighed as he went looking for food for his wife. He thought about getting her a sheep, but he knew it wouldn't satiate her, so he didn't bother. He may tell her it's a sheep, but he wasn't going to waste energy looking for one. he hated this, he hadn't had to leave the castle for food in a long time. it was going to be a lot harder to stay fed now that Ochako was going to quit having suitors so he was going to need to eat innocent people. If he hadn't accidentally turned Ocha, he would just fall on his sword, but he had to take care of her. he supposed they could go back into the woods that night and look for a person who can help them. Right now he needed to find something for Ochako to eat before she broke her chains. He needed to worry about his wife first. , something smelled good, he needed to lure them into the shadows. this was awful, but he needed to eat, Ochako needed to eat. every second he was out here was another second his wife was chained to a wall. he couldn't risk going into direct sunlight, surely someone would come to this ally soon, right? looking at the ground. This was a terrible Ochako was probably going to break out of her bounds and eat sir Iida. , reaching into the sun, he screamed in pain as his arm came back to him with blisters, he was hungry, but not hungry enough to risk death. He huffed, he heard what sounded like crying, and his heart sank, there was a child in distress., he needed to worry about Ochako, he couldn't worry about this strange child the bandages on her arms were worrying though. He frowned, it pissed him off, he had lost his life in pursuit of parenthood, and here this man was, hurting his child. He frowned, maybe that wasn't fair, children sometimes cried for no reason.. But the man smelled delicious.. And Ochako was probably about ready to gnaw through her arm. , how was he going to get to them? He looked around something to shield himself with, but the problem seemed likely to solve itself as he dragged her into the ally. Perfect. Deku frowned as the child looked at him, seemingly asking him for help. He felt uneasy about this man. He loved Ochako, but he wasn't going to kill a man in front of his daughter for her, was he? Frankly, he was ready to do it for himself. He was starving. He grabbed the child, pulling her away from the man and burying his fangs in his neck. The child screamed, and Deku saw the man trying to fight him off, so he snapped his neck. , he felt a little bit bad, but around suitor number twelve, he quit feeling terribly when he took lives. He looked at the child with a slight frown.

"I'm sorry." He murmured, but he didn't mean it, he was just happy to have something to eat. He lifted the body onto his shoulder. He wondered why he didn't want to eat the child, but he figured it was a matter he could take care of after he had fed his wife. He gestured with his head for the child to follow him. She seemed hesitant, but she had no where else to go, so she followed him to the castle. She frowned, why was this strange man going to the castle. Was he going to hurt Lady Midoriya? She trembled as she followed him through the halls, looking at pictures of the late lord, he looked a lot like this strange man. She frowned, had the late lord rescued her? Or was she merely in a different cage? She jumped when he moved a book in the library and the wall opened. She followed him inside. She screamed when she saw lady Midoriya chained to the wall. Lady Midoriya lunged towards them, and the late Lord handed her captor to her and they both started eating him. Eri ran to the corner on the other side of the room and started crying. Surely she was next right? She had followed this monster to her own demise! But really, where else would she go? Deku frowned, looking over at her, he had eaten his fill, he let Ochako finish the body off, going to see the child. He cleaned the blood off his face and went to sit next to her.

"Hey. I-I'm sorry if I scared you. My name is Izuku I am-or.. Used to be the Lord of this city." He sighed, "that's my wife. She's sick. She needed blood so I brought her some."
"Lady Midoriya is sick? I-is it my fault? She can have some of my blood if you think it would help. At least she'll do nice things with it."

Deku frowned "N-no. Just that man's blood is plenty." he cocked his head to the side "What do you mean by that?"
She shook her head, and he nodded his, he supposed she probably didn't want to share sensitive information with him.

"What's your name?"
"Eri." She whimpered
"Well, Eri, I'm Izuku, and that's my wife Ochako."

"Do you have parents you need to be returned to?"
Eri shook her head with a frown "My parents are dead." She whimpered,

"I'm sorry to hear that. You're welcome to stay here with us if you want."
Eri nodded sadly, she didn't have much choice.

Deku sighed, he had always wanted to be a father, and now he was. At least for now. He went to unchain Ochako from the wall. He was a little bit worried that he would want to eat this child later, maybe he should have sir Tenya watch her.. Surely he would, right? Ochako glared at him.

"I'm sorry, my love, but I couldn't risk you eating sir Tenya while I was out."
"It's fine. Thank you for feeding me." Ochako looked over at Eri "Deku I-"

"That man was hurting her, she's an orphan. I couldn't exactly leave her on the street."

"But what if I can't control myself and I hurt her?"
"That's the thing," Deku replied she doesn't smell appealing to me. Like her blood wouldn't have any value to me. I think she may be another vampire, or maybe even a changeling. I figured we could all go into the woods tonight."

Eri began to cry, what were they going to do in the woods?

Ochako sighed "Izuku. You're scaring her."

"Oh. No." Izuku looked at the child, "Ocha and I are going to go to the woods tonight if we can find something we can eat instead of human flesh. And if you want you may come as well, or we may be able to leave you with a friend of ours."
Eri sighed "I-I'll go." She whimpered, she was scared, but she wanted to seem agreeable.

Ochako frowned "Deku. This is a child. We cannot take her to the woods in the middle of the night. It's unlikely she's nocturnal like we are."
"What's nocturnal?" Eri murmured

"Means we sleep during the day and are awake at night." Deku sighed
"Like moths?"
"Yeah. Like moths."

"I like moths."
"Me too." Deku said with a smile

"I usually sleep during the day. My parents couldn't figure out why. It's part of why they wanted that man to look at me."
Deku nodded at that "Interesting." he wondered if this child was a fairy, it would explain the horn and the red eyes.. "Do you want to go for a picnic? I can have my cook pack you some sandwiches and cookies."

"I like cookies with sprinkles and flowers."

Deku nodded "That can be arranged, I'm sure." He looked at Ochako, he supposed this would take some adjusting. She had just turned species, and he had brought a child home with him. He was just thrilled that he wasn't alone anymore. He had a family.

"I love you Dekukun." Ochako murmured looking at Eri and smiling softly "Maybe we can have a tea party tonight."
Eri nodded "I would like that."

Ochako smiled "me too."

Deku kissed her cheek and nuzzled it. He still regretted not being able to give her a child of their own, but perhaps this could make up for it. Eternity together, and maybe even a child that wasn't theirs by blood by could be in every other regard. He knew it was wishful thinking, but he had nothing else.
