Stepping out with my boots. Stomping into the mud of the muddy trails. Walking to the horse stables. The mud water splashing everywhere with every step I take. Making it to the horse stables. All the rest of the girls were already there. Petting the horses, already choosing their horses. An older woman walks over frowning at me "I am Ms. Finnegan, and you are 1 hour late Ms. Lewis!"

I have grown tired of these moody rich people. Trying to tell me what to do. I just walk over to the one horse. That wasn't picked. Who was stomping, bucking, and running in place. Ms. Finnegan laughs in a humorous way. "good look with that one. Pegasus doesn't like anyone"

Everyone laughs as Pegasus just acts like a terror. Making all the racket in his horse stall. I open the gate. Walking over to him slowly talking in a calm whispering voice, "hey boy. " He shakes his head in a violent manner. I jump back, putting my hand out. "okay, okay, gentle. I will not hurt you. "

He calms down, staying still. I smile a little at him, walking slowly toward him. "that's it. See, I am not a threat. " I get closer, and closer to his nose. Feeling my fingertips touching his nose gently. Pegasus slowly walks up to me to where I can fully pet him. I smile up at him, "good boy" rubbing his head. Ms. Finnegan and the other girls look at me in shock.

I put on his saddle gently. Mounting Pegasus, putting my two feet in the legs of the saddle. Ms. Finnegan, still looking baffled, clears her throat. "now I want you girls to direct your horse out one at a time. I gently pat Pegasus's neck. "we got this boy. " He nods. I hold on to his reins gently. Leading him out of his stall.

Falling Ms. Finnegan out of the barn. We all circle into this white caged fence. Ms. Finnegan shouts out "okay ladies. I want you all to trot. Which means you need to give your legs a little squeeze, or give your horse a light kick to cue the trot. Let's start!"

All the girls try to make their horses go. But some were even yelling at the poor horses. Venessa yells "come on you stupid fleabag!" I shake my head in disgust. You don't talk to animals that way.

Ms. Finnegan frowns. "Venessa Guibert, that is no way to act!" I smirk a little. Then look serious. Trying not to laugh, as she tries again. Getting bucked off the horse and falling right on her butt. I give Pegasus a light kick, cueing him to go. He trots around the white caged fence. Ms. Finnegan claps, gesturing to the other girls. Who was struggling? "see that is how you do it! Well done Ms. Lewis, well done!"

She claps for me. As the others simply just glare in jealously. I try to not gloat. But simply look at them, giving them a delightful smile. Ms. Finnegan calls out, "okay time for you ladies to learn to ride like a Queen. Now I need you all to put both of your legs on the side of the saddle. This takes a good amount of strength!"

I put both of my legs on the right side. Using the strength in my legs to hold on. Pegasus looks back at me, waiting for a signal. I shake my head. Holding the reins with one hand. Pegasus leading walking around the white circle fence as I wave. Ms. Finnegan smiles widely, pointing "yes! Yes! Exactly like that, Ms. Lewis! Outstanding!"

One girl with strawberry blonde short hair blurted out, "I can do that better!" I watch her as she tries, but falls sideways. I cover my mouth, trying not to laugh. What an idiot! Ms. Finnegan calls out, looking at her pocket watch. "okay girl's time to settle in. It's getting dark!"

All the girls put their horses up, leaving them in their stalls with food. I stay behind, smiling at Pegasus. Looking at all the dirt. He looks so filthy. When was the last time they bathed or groomed him?! I smile, grabbing his harness.

Grabbing the brush from Pegasus groom bucket. Grooming him slowly. Brushing his mane talking soothing words to him, "such a good boy. I will get these mats out," brushing his hair and his tail gently. Trying not to spook him. I take his lead, clipping it to his harness. Leading him outside slowly. Smiling as I take him near a water bucket. Pumping water on the side of him. Tying his lead to the post.

Pouring the water all over him, getting every inch of dirt off of him. Grabbing the soap and the sponge. Giving him a good bath, smiling as I bath him. His white and brown coat. Looking all pure white and clean.

I grab the hoof pick. Taping the bottom of his leg "Pegasus leg?" He lets me lift it up to clean it out. I smile up at him. I take him back to his stall, feeding him some oats. In his food bucket. Smiling, petting him.

A voice comes from in front of me. "well all be damn. I've never seen Pegasus let someone be near him. Let alone groom and bath him. You truly have a gift.," I look up to see Prince Jeremy. I smile softly, holding Pegasus's food bucket. "o-oh well, thanks. I just really love animals.,"

Prince Jeremy stuffs his hands in his front fancy pant pockets smiling "Ana, you're filled with surprises. I believe Pegasus here would agree. He only would let me around him. Now I see you're clearly special."

Pegasus looks up, nodding his head. I giggle petting his neck "you really think that?" Pegasus nods again going back to eating his oats. I laugh softly, my hair falling into my face. Prince Jeremy chuckles. "I will see you around, Ana. Don't forget to put his fleece on. It's going to get cold tonight. "

I smile, grabbing his fleece, buckling it on him gently. I pet him and give him a hug one last time. "I will come back tomorrow, okay boy?" He nods. I smile widely. I walk back to the palace shutting the barn door behind me locking it.

I've always loved animals ever since I was little. Every time I would be around them. They would just walk up to me. I didn't even have to try. It was just a random occurrence. One time when I was 6 a baby doe came up to me. My mom and dad looked at me, taken aback at how odd and great it was.

Ever since then, all I wanted to do was help animals and be around them. So I am choosing to be a vet. To use my gift to help all the animals I can in this world. I know I won't be able to save all. But I can try to save all that I can.
