Min Gi was ready to settle down for the night when his phone rang.
He was expecting it to be one of his friends asking for the answers to the homework that he was about to start working on or asking if there was a big enough gap between regular school classes and his optional, extra dance classes to hang out.
What he wasn't expecting was to see Yun Ho's name pop up on his screen after they'd just been in practice together.
Based on the time, the older should've just gotten home.
He answered. "Yun Ho? Is something wrong?" He didn't hear anything but a sob on the other end. He stood from where he was sitting on his bed. "Yun Ho?! Are you there?"
"Min Gi...can...can I stay the night? I know it's last minute but...something happened and I can't go home."
"Of course." He pulled the phone away from his ear with a frown, checking the time. "It'll be kind of late by the time you get here-"
"It's okay...I'll figure something else-"
"No, Yun Ho..." The ravenette sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "...I'll be at the station when you get there."
"You don't have to." The older hiccupped and Min Gi felt his heart break. "I...I don't even know why I asked-"
"No, you're coming over 'cause I'm inviting you. My parents will be okay with it."
"...Are you sure?"
"Yes, Yun Ho. I'm sure. I'll see you soon." He hung up before the older could protest anymore. He sighed, running a hand through his hair.
"It's a little late to be inviting someone over, don't you think?"
Min Gi yelped, throwing his phone onto his bed. He grumbled when he heard laughing from the doorway to his room. "Hyung, that's not funny! You know I get scared easily!"
"That's what makes it so funny." His older brother came and sat next to him on the bed. "Who were you talking to? A girl, perhaps?"
Min Gi shoved him away. "No, it was my friend I was telling you about. The one who lives in Gwangju."
"What about him? You just saw him, didn't you?"
The ravenette sighed. "...He said that something happened and he couldn't go home. So I told him that he could come here."
"That's a two hour trip if he takes the subway." He checked the time. "It'll be about ten by the time he gets here. Do appa and eomma know?"
"...Not yet. But he sounded upset and scared and he didn't know where else to go-"
His brother sighed. "Ah...my namdongsaeng is too kind for his own good." He leaned over onto Min Gi, causing both of them to fall over.
"Hyung, get off me!"
"He's gonna use his powers and change the world with his big heart." He then started to tickle the younger.
The ravenette couldn't hold back his laughter. "Hyung, stop it!"
The tickle fight didn't last long before his older brother let up. "Well, eomma and appa are both in the living room. If they agree, I'll be more than happy to pick your friend up with you so you don't have to walk."
"You're the best, hyung!" He gave his brother an overdramatic hug before running out of the room. He found his mom in the kitchen and his dad in the living room, answering an email. "Eomma, appa, I have an important question."
"You've had a lot of those recently," his dad responded with a laugh, taking his glasses off. "What's up?"
"Um...I still feel bad for telling you that I didn't want to go to school for dance anymore. You guys put so much time and money into-"
